My main gripe with Shadow the Hedgehog is that the animation in the cutscenes is not what you expect. The intro has my favourite design for Maria and the animation is so silky smooth, but then the rest of the game reuses Adventure visuals and if anything they look uglier than they did in the original games.
"Fist Bump" is so catchy. I didn't care for it in prerelease but when you actually play the game it gets your blood boiling. It certainly drives in that "You're fighting alongside Sonic feel". I've never cared for self-insert characters so the Avatar in Forces is a novelty to me.
I do hope a bit that Forces isn't canon, however, and if it is that it doesn't get referenced too mucb. It just feels weird in the scheme of things. It feels too much like simple fanservice and has too many plot-holes.

My best guess is that the guy was trying to do something innocuous, say slicing some bread, but then fell, accidentally entered the exact input sequence to send the patch online, and also accidentally stabbed all of his co workers including himself with the bread knife so nobody could stop the upload.

Famitsu gave us more information on Mania Plus
Angel Island gets its own zone outside of just the intro cutscene.
Ray’s ability is basically gliding but with added height (Very likely similar to the Mario world cape)
Ray and Mighty were both stuck in the combi-catcher from Knuckles Chaotix before Mania
Encore Mode doesn’t just change the layout, it changes some aesthetics at least since Green Hill Encore is in sunset while Mirage Saloon is at night
Encore takes place after the main story mode: There seems to be a new cutscene showing both Sonic and Ray (Which means we might be able to pair everyone besides Sonic with each other) looking at every destroyed Heavy, with the magician heavy holding a phantom ruby

Ehhh I won't blame them for avatar, that was a reasonable approach at least in concept.
What I don't get is how Eggman has never been imprisoned by GUN or anything? After what he pulled in SA 2 you'd think the guy would've gotten arrested or something.
