The likelyhood of bringing up plot points from Adventure is next to nil, let alone you'd have to retcon her death/Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence, her Knuckles skin in Adventure 2's multiplayer aside.

[up]x6 Thanks :D If I ever manage to get the hang of game programming, I'll do this idea justice evil grin

I thought Cream was created for Sonic Heroes, since there was no flying character for Amy, and they put her into Advance 2 so players would be familiar with her before Heroes' release surprised I guess which one is true depends on whether video games take longer to make than tv shows [lol]

[up]x5 Hm, yeah, now that I think about it, people tend to hate Cream for her voice more often than not. Not too sure how to feel about that. On one hand, I find it rather shallow to dislike a character based on voice alone, mainly since voice isn't a character's "fault" (For example, does the Joker as a whole deserve to be disliked for his voice in Young Justice?). But then, if a character's voice is particularly annoying to someone and they talk a lot, it's a rather big deal. Hopefully Michelle Ruff "redeems" Cream to people who dislike her for that reason. I thought she made Cream sound very pleasant in Generations (now if only Cream were to appear more often so we can hear more of her take on Cream)

Have to agree there [lol] No offense to Charmy, I like his character and think he gets too much hate, but I often question why he's viewed as more useful and "competent" than Cream. Like, yeah, he's a detective and more than willing to fight than Cream, but Cream is FAR more mature than him, and being "down-to-Earth" is better than being "scatterbrained" for most situations

[up] To give a some credit to the little guy, Charmy did technically "save the world" in Shadow the Hedgehog by fixing the video of Gerald giving a motivational speech to Shadow so he can stop Black Doom.tongue

The moment they brought back Chaos in Sonic Battle they already retconned Chaos's... 'death'. I would prefer at least a throwaway line saying Tikal's spirit is guarding the Master Emerald, especially since she IS a popular character.

Cream was definitely made for Sonic Heroes, I remember that. But they decided to put Cream in Sonic Advance 2, which being a handheld game ended up being released first. Not sure about the 'being made for Sonic X' thing, though.

Remember how the oil ocean's drowning works, it kills if you're a certain level below the surface. So get off the platform before it gets dragged down or you'll get pulled in and die.

Here's the Title Theme for Sonic Forces, ripped from the Japanese Switch demo.

Pretty basic for a demo of the first stage, but that's to be expected.

Smh worse than generations confirmed. They definitely got the wrong guy to direct this game.

Hint icons never slowed down the game before, yet they pause the whole game now? Absolutely baffling design decision from someone who obviously doesn't understand the beauty of Sonic's flow. Hoping this is just first stage tutorial nonsense.

The level design feels pedestrian and basic compared to Generations. Boosters all over the place despite boost making them sort of needless for the most part? They're abused far too much here. And the enemy layout is terrible, just lined up rather boring to feel less like things trying to stop you and simply serve as boost batteries.

Music doesn't even seem as good.

Colors a fluke confirmed. Nakamura doesn't get Sonic anymore and needs to sit alongside iizuka as people who should stay on the sidelines from now one and stop directing. And they can take their accursed wisps with them, no one gives a care about those things except those dorks.

Green Hill modern IMO wasn't the best rep for Modern sonic in Generations as it seemed kind of linear and was more shallow than the later, better levels but this looks less impressive than that.

My thoughts and opinions are always open to change, in fact I want my impressions of this game to change. But when you show footage, and it fails to deliver hype, then you deserve the criticism.

There's no good reason Forces should turn out bad aside from poor direction and lack of good execution. They had the time and the budget, and even a solid base to build off. This footage showed exactly that, poor direction and lack of good execution. If that was not ST's intention, then guess what? They screwed up, and either should've bothered with better footage or designed a better level.

It's a demo, this is as close to owning the game as you can get.

You're determined to defend this game until the very end despite everything against it.

Luigisan, you had a point when we were still going off of trailers, but judging a game based on a demo is a fair call. That’s what demos are for. They convey a sense of what the final product is like, and give potential customers a chance to see if it appeals to them. It’s true that it’s not the same as playing the whole game, but it’s also not a good sign if the part that’s being shown off is underwhelming.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to wait for the full game and see for yourself if you like it. That’s what I usually do, and it’s what I’m planning to do with this one. I’ve ended up enjoying several games that a lot of people disliked, and disliking a few that most people liked. But that’s the thing - people’s reactions are subjective. If someone feels like they’ve seen enough to decide it’s a deal-breaker, there’s not a whole lot you can do to change that. It also doesn’t mean you have to feel the same way.

I don’t get the impression that people are annoyed with you for wanting to wait for the full game. The issue is that you’re not OK with letting anyone do otherwise, even though we’re at the point where there’s a lot of information to go off of. That’s not the same thing as, say, a knee-jerk reaction to one trailer.
