Still, they'd have to organizing Elle's returning around Glaudini's schedule if they want her back. It's been so long and her tenure was so short (season and a half) that she's almost become the Chuck Cunningham of the show. It may not be worth spending the money to bring her back for the few hardcore fans who remember her. It'd be cheaper to Bus Crash her.

If they hadn't already kinda done it with Gideon, and non-lethally with Garcia, it might've been neat to have a plot revolve around her getting offed for getting too close to an Unsub.

Or hell, knowing how she left the show, it might be cool to have her come back as a vigilante unsub.

Yeah Pete Best sounds about right. Either way, it's been so long that I'm not sure how many people would actually remember her. Not mention there's only like 2 or 3 current cast members who knew her directly (Reid, JJ and maybe Garcia).

Garcia was around and would know her for sure.

How bizarre could the season 13 finale be in comparison to when they damn near imported Dr. Destiny as a villain?

EDIT: So new cult is really an old cult...anyone remember that one time Luke Perry played a cult leader back in season 4? Yeah it's those guys, except more murdery.

Also the writers seriously have a thing for putting Reid in bad situations. This what, the fourth time he's been kidnapped? Jesus people, cut the poor guy some slack XD

So they went from Dr. Destiny In All But Name (there is no way the Dr. Scratch guy did all that with no helpful Dream powers), to basically the Legion Of Doom...

Well, it seems that the theme of the past couple of seasons is resurrecting old episodes/unsubs. They went back to season 3 this time and pulled an Infant Terrible, though I suppose the unsub was may be too sympathetic for the moniker, but it kinda works considering his dad was a serial killer and he became one himself. It was the episode with Garcia's infamous gaffe with Strauss over the phone. The "Talk dirty to me" bit.

Since old season shout outs look to be a thing now, I wonder who they'll bring back next :P My money's on that 10 year old sociopath who killed his brother and stuffed plane parts down his throat.

Or maybe we can finally get some closure for that one child molester they never caught. I know he got mentioned 2 or 3 seasons back when they had a case in or around that same mountain trails he used, but they never did catch him and he's pretty much the only case in the whole show they still have left open.

So far the plan is to bring the original cast back for a ten episode case, which I am totally down for. I always thought season 13 should have been a serialized season

"Original" as in even Mandy Patinkin? That seems like it'd be hard, given that a) he left the show on the grounds of morally objecting to its Do Not Do This Cool Thing nature, and b) his character was killed off, years later.

Probably not lol. My assumption is that they're rehiring the cast that ended the series. Though I'm not sure what the plans would be for Penelope considering she quits in the final episode. But she easily could be the one who brings them the case, especially since she's potentially dating Alvez by this point so she's still very much in contact with the team.

How does that even work? A reboot with the OG cast?

Like, they are over a decade and a half older than when they picked the roles up. Is Matthew Gray Gubler supposed to go back to playing akward, season 1 Reid?

Are they bringing Hotch back? "Hey we know we fired you, try not to turn into a rage monster again on set plz?"

What's Gibson up to now, btw?

Did a few stints voice acting roles. Appeared in a direct to tv movie about a unit of ICE (Yeah, the guys who put kids in cages) in 2019.

My guess is they'll just continue where season 15 ended. So Prentiss, JJ, Reid, Tara, Alvez Rossi, maybe Garcia, and the guy from the spinoff.

I think I mentioned this earlier but I wouldn't mine Elle coming back as a vigilante unsub. It would probably work really well with the serialized format Paramount+ wants to use

I had actually been marathoning the entire series last month, and man, I have thoughts after watching so much. SO MANY THOUGHTS.

I'm not sure how I feel about the follow up. I didnt care for the last few seasons so the new character didn't grab me. No Reid feels like the show's missing something. That and Joe Mantegna looks like he's aged a billion years since the end of the show that it kinda strains credibility he's still working as an agent?

Last season of the original run he really was pushing it, honestly.

The reviews have been pretty solid so far, surprisingly, especially for the villain.

And from what I've read, Joe Montegna looking worse for wear is in purpose.

I'm also kinda glad Reid's not back. If he was the writer's would definitely find some way to torture him again.

I stand firmly that most of the show's 15 seasons weren't that good. The show peaked at season 3 imho. Not to say the rest of the show has no good episodes, there's a ton, but I think Rossi's first season is the show's golden era.

Nah man. season 5. The peak of the Reaper saga AND Tim Curry as a serial killer? Nothing topped that IMO.

While I love Tim Curry i felt his character was kinda wasted?

Reaper was good. Though has a bit of a Villain Sue thing, though for that he pales compared to Mister Scratch.

Main reason I single season 3 out is that when the transition point where they show you the unsub every episode becomes a thing. Later seasons just completely lose the mystery or the fun of solving the case. It's also before some of the personal plot become.... stupid? due to dragging too long.

Like Hotch's neglect of his family just becomes infuriating when becomes a single dad.

To be clear I dont mean post season 3 is bad, or that theres no legit top 10 episode there, but I feel season 3 is when the writers had their craft at its peak.
