PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyLooks 100% legit, I don't see why there's a chance of Kotaku jumping on another false announcement.
Looks like more of the same, at least graphically wise, and that space battles are going to be a bigger focus now. That's good news. Still, we haven't seen actual gameplay yet so we don't know just what exactly has changed between games.
I put the Kotaku warning for people who would rather not give them the pageviews. Yeah, there's really nothing in there to suggest this isn't a legit teaser of the game that should have been released the first time.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThat's the "epic trailer" we were promised? I hope that's not the whole thing. 30 seconds with no real content is a major disappointment.
Also I hope we get more planets and stuff, from what this says. Story mode could also be good.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Kotaku's improved quite a bit from a few years ago. Yeah they still post the occasion troll post and some raunchy clickbait, but it's ultimately what their audience wants, and the writing quality has improved too. Heck I'm even following them on Facebook these days, they tend to post some interesting reads every now and then, especially about Japan or other foreign nerdy cultures.
Agreed. Haven't seen anything yet to pique my interest in purchasing the game.

There's singleplayer now, apparently....
You start as an imperial officer, post Endor - how many guesses that halfway through the game you "realise the Empire is EVIL." and turn rebel.
Sigh. All I want is a modern re-do of TIE Fighter, or a Star Wars game a la the X series....
At least the Raider corvette is getting some love.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I don't know. The trailer makes it seem like the whole thing is an introspective, like the Battlefront II one where the Clone narrating is retelling his past, so the pro-Empire ideology the main character shows could be the one she ends up with in the end rather than switching sides. Besides, the current EU loves it's Post-ROTJ Imperial narratives.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. It's because they're rebuilding the Empire past the black and white stuff the Legends verse gave us. If this is available on Steam I'll judge it on its merits. Otherwise, no dice. I don't want more DRM systems and I haven't heard anything about Origin that makes it better than Steam.
Thing is, the Legends universe (former Expanded Universe) already had the Empire as being more of a greyish thing, with the upper echelons being mostly corrupt opportunists and outright xenophobic ideologues while the military actually had some decent folks, like Pellaeon. Others were at worst Punch Clock Villains.
Not to mention that many characters who sided with the rebellion started out as part of the Empire's military and deserted when the regime's excesses became a) more obvious b) worse over time.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Yeah. Like the government it was based off of, the higher ranks were the psychos pulling the strings, but there were just as many rank-and-file that were either Just Following Orders or actually believed in the same stuff, with just as many deserting or defecting in disgust.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.That's not even a really new thing. Even back in A New Hope, Luke makes mention of wanting to join the Imperial Starfighter Academy, if I recall correctly.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Yeah, and Biggs and Hobbie had already gone.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw."Full length" trailer on Saturday
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThank goodness. A 30 second "reveal trailer" would have been dumb.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I remember mostly being terribly disappointed at Modern Warfare 2's reveal teaser trailer.
"It's just a bunch of green static and talking I can barely hear?"
Ugh, more Imperial apologia. The amount of shilling that this Space Nazi government gets, Star Wars runs the risk of becoming fascist propaganda.
"For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."I highly doubt that we'll be seeing the Empire as the "good guys" in this. This is just like Sloane's point of view in the Aftermath series, or Ciena's in Lost Stars.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Feel the excitement of Star Wars™ : The Last Jedi™ by pre-ordering Star Wars Battlefront II and receiving Kylo Ren- and Rey-themed looks inspired by the upcoming film, epic ability upgrades, and much more!
Become a hero in Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II. Experience rich and living Star Wars™ multiplayer battlegrounds across prequels, original trilogy, and the new era. Customize and upgrade iconic characters such as Yoda or Darth Maul, starfighters, or troopers. Plus, play an emotionally-gripping single player story.
...oh gaming industry.
Remember when you had like a dozen playable heroes in Battlefront II just for buying the game?
I remember that crappy "all heroes vs villains" mode on the Mos Eisley map. I had some good times playing that.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Yes, but that was before online gaming hit its hey-day, when publishers thought "We won't make enough money with just the game, so let's carve some stuff off to sell as accessories!"
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.That's also because if you had to pay for the game based on how much money the company spent on making it, you'd have to pay nearly $90 or $100 dollars for...practically every game released in the last three years.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Oh right, that too.
Look on the bright side, guys. You could be Australia, which has to pay like 100 dollars for even one game.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I'm Canadian, and I pay $80 for new games.
Remember when games were complete when you bought them? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
That was back when games were cheap to make, relatively at least.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!
I wouldn't count on it. Aside from the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, I can't think of a single title in EA's catalog that gave worthwhile rewards for owning one of their previous titles. Typically, the multiplayer games (ex the Battlefield series) just give you unique dog tags and insignias to customize your profile with and nothing else.
EDIT: I meant to address Known Unknown on the previous page
