Um... Would it be okay if I put myself down as a "maybe"? I'd love to take part, but my track record for this kind of thing is... Not great, ahah~ But I'll try my best, at the very least.

I would like to join.

Maybe a deadline will help me focus harder on work like this.

Can we start writing at any time?

Also can we do more than one entry?

Thanks for getting this going!

But curses, you have a ton of entrants already. All right, I'll judge again. But next time I'm entering.

After how I did in the previous TV Tropes Writing Contest, I'm having my doubts (@ the judges of the previous contest, I'm deeply sorry, and I should have put more than three days of work into what I submitted), but I think this would be a much easier idea to work with. I'm still not sure; I don't want to risk embarrassment again, and I feel like I might be better off, mentally, just dismissing the whole contest by saying "writing contests don't measure skill (and I don't believe they're a very good measure for it, as I've written much better samples since then, and even before then, and even for other writing contests)/I can't write well under someone else's constraints (which I can't)" to make myself feel better. But at the same time, if I put more thought into this one, there's no way I will come in last twice in a row.

Don't put me down for it yet, but I'll work on something once I'm done with my current story. If I have anything I think is worthy of submission by then, I'll be back.

I had my fun judging, so I'm entering this time. :D

Question: Is the submissions process going to be the same as last time?

I'm not sure if I could make it to the deadline, but that's usually not a problem, so yeah. Dreams are awesome, count me in.

Actually i'm writing a short story with dream motifs for another short story contest at the moment, but I think it is much longer than the 5000 word limit. So I won't enter this one to spare the judges of reading 30ish pages. Wish me luck though :P

Yes. No.

Half these slackers will drop out by the time the dealine comes around. Thats right, I'm calling you out, Tropers!

Is the submissions process going to be the same as last time?

More or less.

Wish me luck though :P

Luck wished.

"Dealine?" Is that some sort of French name, or the spawnchild of "deal" and "clementine"?

For the sake of the contest are Nightmares still considered dreams?

We need at least one more judge. Last time we had 6 or so and only 4 ended up judging. We also need a facilitator to pass off the entries to the judges so they'll be anonymous.

(Everest, and other people who participated last time: You should absolutely re-enter. That way you can compare and see if you are improving.)

I offer to be a "facilitator" too, if no one else does.

That way you can compare and see if you are improving.

See, that's one of my hangups about reentering: I don't think writing contests are a very good measure of writing at one's full capacity.  Angsting related to last time's results and my opinions

Hopefully, advertising this thing in Yack Fest might get us a larger judging pool. Y/N?

HAY PARABLE /obnoxiousvoice

Perhaps you should add a note to the front page explaining the submission process for the people who weren't here last time (if indeed there are any).

Also, out of curiosity, will there be a prize this time too?
