I see a big difference between the Big Bad gloating, after he thinks he won and someone beeing unsportsmanlike after winning a "civil" competition. The description of the trope makes it sounds like the second.

If the Big Bad wins, him beeing rude and unsporstmanlike about it is the least of your problems. And seriously, who expects the villian to be sportsmanlike and polite?

...Why was the image removed?

Evil Gloating is well for the villains and villains never play nice nor are they expected to. Unsportsmanlike Gloating is where it's a contest and everyone is suppose to play nice and fair, when someone starts gloating on any side after a victory or a score (usually in a derogatory way) it's this, most of the time it an bad apple The Rival and they might get looks from both sides or a Hardcore fan etc.

They can overlap I guess if it's Go-Karting with Bowser and such. They are Sister Tropes I think. This one requires a real contest like sports and such, the other one requires a villain.

So umm why was the image removed? It was chosen in an image picking thread. (I did like this one a bit better nobody else did though.... Guess I will dig though the manga.)

Given the support for a rename, there is now an alternative titles crowner for this trope here.

Since there were not many votes in the previous crowner, I am a bit concerned that this might be premature, so feel free to tell me if you think so.

The image was removed by Fast Eddie. He didn't leave an edit reason, so you'll have to PM him if you're curious, I guess.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

It's been a while, but there's only one option and not many votes.

Clocking to be on the safe side.

Since the crowner had been around for a while and Unsportsmanlike Gloating has a 11-1 margin of support, I went ahead and did the rename. If that was inappropriate, I can revert it, but I am thinking it should be okay given how much support that crowner option was receiving and how stable the crowner has been.

Anyway, Victory Gloating is now a redirect for Unsportsmanlike Gloating, the wicks should be fixed, the old quotes page has been sent to the cutlist and has been replaced with a new one, and there are notes about the change on the Renamed Tropes page and in the renamed tropes thread. I sent a report to move the archived discussion.

I tried to move examples that mistook the trope for Evil Gloating to that trope and I generally edited out other ones that did not involve any sort of contest. I am not so sure about the Doctor Who S15 E1 "Horror of Fang Rock" example, so it might be a good idea for someone who is a fan of Doctor Who to take a look at it. If someone wants to make Victory Gloating into a supertrope, we might want to go ahead and talk about doing that in this thread too.

In any event, I would appreciate feedback on this rename to check to see if I made any mistakes during the rename process.
