Well maybe Minovsky Physics but really I would like to preserve the trope namer here its one that has been this for 32 years never changing the name itself is synonymous with the trope vs Green Rocks crap that most other series put out.
I think new redirects will get the point across to the idiots.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I could live with Phlebotinum Physics (even though I can never remember how to spell Phlebotinum), although it does sound a bit like an index of phlebotinum-related tropes.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Well, technically speaking, Applied Phlebotinum is a Super-Trope to various tropes, like Big Red Button, Green Rocks, Green Lantern Ring, Unobtainium, and of course, Minovsky Particle.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I never liked the word Phlebotinum, it took me months to learn how to spell it properly from memory.
Fight smart, not fair.Phlebotinum is too hard to spell so Minovksy Physycs could work. Also, it keeps the trope namer, which is a plus.
EDIT: Oh wow, I spelled Phlebotinum wrong.

"badass" doesn't anything in after used end fail be fine.I hope you see the irony in that post.
So, is it time to bring in the alt-titles crowner? 7:1 in favor is a pretty strong consensus to rename.
Being "too hard to spell" for a few tropers is not good enough of a reason, else we would have had Applied Phlebotinum in the TRS already. Even if it was, Phlebotinum Physics is much more accurate than Minovsky Physics in terms of explaining the definition (Applied Phlebotinum that actually has consistent rules/physics that govern its application). That said, you can always make Minovsky Physics a redirect.
Yeah, I think so.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. The vote is currently 14 yeas to 2 nays. The crowner has only been open for a bit over a day. We need to make sure the vote has stabilized before we move on to an alt-names crowner. We got 14 yea votes in one day; it's entirely possible we'll get that many nay votes by this time tomorrow.

I didn't write any of that. What's the point of the crowner? I think EVERYONE agreed that the name should be changed, but it's a matter of WHAT to change.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. At least three people disagreed.
Fight smart, not fair.Hah! MINORITY DOES NOT DESERVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK OUT THEIR VOICE IN THIS JUDGEMENT!
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Bump. Accuse me of impatience if you will, but this thread has been going for over three months. Yes, I have seen older ones, but really, can we please just get this over with?
Okay, no renaming is more or less the majority. Now, to what? The examples I've seen so far includes* :
Any more suggestions?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Well, for the "boring but obvious" name, how about Consistent Fictional Physics?
That works too. Ok, once we have around ten names, we should put another crowner.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. We don't need ten names you know. You can just make the crowner and people can add new ones as they go.
Fight smart, not fair.I like the number.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. That's not good enough of a reason to delay the crowner.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Obviously not. The real reason that I am a lazy son of a gun.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel....I'm sorry guys, even through this whole discussion I still only see this as *SCIENCE!* A Is *SCIENCE!* A. Can anyone really explain to me what the difference between this and Magic A Is Magic A is, other than that the 'explanation' of where the power comes from is pseudoscientific instead of mystical?
...Related slightly, do we have a supertrope for all 'scientific explanations for magical effects' tropes? I thought it would be Clarke's Third Law, but after looking at that page I only get the feeling that either that page is muddled or it's being used for in-universe examples of science masquerading as magic.

Want to rename a trope? Step one: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.I think that "self-consistent magic" and "a fictional branch of science" are distinct tropes.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Actually, Magic A Is Magic A is not just about magic; the laconic entry summarizes it best: "Made-up elements behave consistently." In that regard, the title is actually too specific to convey the full context of the trope's definition.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Right there. That's what this is. Duplicate trope.
Want to rename a trope? Step one: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.No, Minovsky Particle is the "One Big Lie" theory of science fiction. You make one minor change to physics, which enables your entire 'verse.
Huh, that was the definition? I thought it was a phlebotinum that is very plausibly explained.

Crown Description:
Previous single proposition crowner showed consensus support for renaming Minovsky Particle.
@Raso: Reasons, please? The argument for the rename is pretty solid so far.
Phlebotinum Physics sounds clearer than Minovsky Physics, though the latter can serve as a redirect.
