The PC version of Assassins Creed Brotherhood is here, guys. Posting while I've got time to kill while mine installs, I just picked up my Collector's Edition preorder; what I got was: DVD with the game, DVD with "additional materials", six pewter figurines (The Prowler, The Executioner, The Doctor, The Courtesan, The Priest and The Noble) and the nice-looking Codex. What version did you get?

EDIT: When the official FAQ has to go out of its way to tell you that if your bonus content unlock code doesn't work, you should report to the support system for a replacement, you know someone screwed up big-time. Mine doesn't work, let's see how swift Ubi's support is when compared to EA's =)

Wow, got your copy a day early, eh?

Actually, that might be the problem - you got your copy a day early. May be locked til official release.

Nope, the official Russian release was on the 18th. We're special. The fact that this series is one of a very short list of Russian localizations that subvert "Blind Idiot" Translation instead of exemplifying it, is also good.

I'm liking it a lot, too. It's essentially AC 2 with slightly more features and a truckload of new levels - oh, and slightly better graphics. Am yet to try multiplayer, though.

The multiplayer is seven shades of awesome. And Paranoia Fuel to the max. Quite fun, I'll say =)

I was kind of disappointed over the weekend. I put in 2 again a few months after beating it, planning to go to Venice (accidentally forgetting Altair's sword) to the Duomo and start a big fight with every guard in the place. I was underwhelmed, because instead of all coming at me at once they came at me in small groups. I guess it's because I stayed in one place and fought them rather than running around and getting them all to attack me, but still. You'd think that people screaming and swords clashing would draw more attention.

That's because the AI probably can't handle any semblance of a coordinated attack that way without throwing what the devs thought would be game balance out the window?

Brotherhood multiplayer is kick-awesome. Totally different from any other multiplayer game I've played.

Any Tropers playing this regularly? My buddy list is too short.

Been playing through AC 2 lately and its pretty good; certainly an improvement over the first game. Except for all the Call Backs to N64 era platformers.... I'm stuck on that last Assassin seal because its basically everything wrong with Super Mario 64 (walljumps, bad camera angles, time limits) rendered in hi-definition.

I was able to get through all of the tombs easy and get Altair's Armor in time for the final confrontation in Rome. A shame that I didn't get the Auditore cape (would have been the ultimate revenge thing, Assassins infiltrating the Templar's very center, a family Borgia thought dead coming back...), that would've been awesome and I'm curious as to what it looked like.

Is it just me or did Brotherhood get rid of Wall Jumps...I guess Ezio must be getting too old.

It didn't. They get introduced when you're playing as Desmond for the first time and they are rather important for the Followers of Romulus quests if you ever hope to get the Armour of Brutus, the local super-hidden armour.

Guess it may just be me...I unlocked the brutus armour (it's cool but man Altair's just looks better) and all that so...hmmm maybe I just forgot.

Well, you simply can't get through some sections of the Da Vinci Disappearance DLC and the Followers Of Romulus hideouts without wall jumping a lot, so I guess you did forget it =)

I am just incapable of pulling off walljumps 95% of the time. Have been since Super Mario 64; just beyond my reflexes. Though judging by some reactions on the Ubisoft forums at least I'm not alone.

On another note should I play the DLC for AC 2 (sequences 12 and 13) before or after I do sequence 14?

Before, preferrably, the game benefits from chronological intake =) If you're doing a fresh run and have them installed, they will automagically play before it.

But the AC walljumps are piss-easy compared to Metroid walljumps! Not as easy as Prince of Persia walljumps (where you just mash the jump button like a madman), but still easy.

Metroid walljumps were easily for me. A complete joke in Prime 2 and 3 (and there were like a dozen of them tops), not too bad in Zero Mission and Fusion. I remember them being a bit of a pain in Super though.

To be honest I feel like its more the controls that are against me than the game itself. I just can't keep Ezio from diving into the water.

Anyone know a place where I can practice walljumping? You can't do it in the tomb itself because the triggering the timer is required for lowering some of the beams (another poor design choice but I digress) so I need a place to master this without worrying about time limits or enemies.

Any street with a right angle in it is good for practicing side walljumps, any street you can jump across is good for practicing straight walljumps. I can't tell you any specific places because I never actually had to practice, I figured the differences from the Po P system via trial and error and went from there on.

I finally got that last Assassin Seal. Once I beat that second walljump it wasn't that bad. Now I've got another problem.

Feathers: 97/100 Even with the awesome site I found (thehiddenblade.com) this is going to be tedious because I have no idea which 3 I missed. But damn it I will get those 3 feathers and I will Platinum this game! Even if it does basically give trophies away. >.>

Ugh, if I ever play through that again I'm just going to avoid any feather I see and wait until I need to go back around and pick up the Codex pages. I didn't know which feathers I'd gotten and which I hadn't, so I just had to say "Screw it" and not get the Auditore cape. I did collect 50 feathers though...post game.

At least the feathers are better than the flags in Assassin's creed 1, in that the sub-menu for the feathers has them divided up by which city/region you were in...

So you don't know out of ~20 which one you're missing... at least it's not out of 100.tongue

Wait... feathers are divided up by city? That makes things a tad easier; though I'm pretty sure that they are in Venice or Florence.

By city and region. Since Venice is also the biggest city in the game (It's got like five different districts in it, none of the other cities are anything like that) that's probably where most of them are, anyway.
