Hmm, I think they'd probably port it to console, somehow, but I suppose it's a reasonable thing to worry about.

Also, I think the whole bounty bonus rotation is incredibly stupid. It basically requires you to do every single act in one uninterrupted sitting or else you end up with odd numbers of mats that are totally useless. God help you if you disconnect.

Every time I've logged in tonight I've had Act I as the bonus bounty. It's annoying.

I took your advice and pumped my Wizard up to Torment VI. It went well enough until I had to fight some named mobs in Sescheron as part of a bounty. I think Blizz overtuned them a wee tad.

I decided that I'll just wait till there's a discount on both D3's before I buy it. $80 seems too much.

Hatred of the game mechanics: Jailer effect holding me in the blast zone of a dying Molten elite. This is at a level where the blasts one-shot me.

Yeah that can be a bitch. Or being frozen when that explosion is going off. Unless I'm playing my barb; she has the amulet of "fuck you, fire, you can't hurt me!" I.e the fire immunity legendary amulet.

Or any elemental absorption amulet. Though blackthorne's set and the ice climbers boots are great for anti-CC

Indeed. The elemental immunity amulets are great, especially if you double up, i.e wear one and cube the other.

Fighter: You're maining a Wizard, right? Some people swear by Teleport, but I prefer Mirror Image because it breaks other CC effects like Freeze. For me, then, the big pains are Waller and Vortex instead. (This is why I run a Firebird set.)

In other news, I just started playing again, and was very annoyed to discover that my Holy Shotgun Crusader doesn't work very well anymore.

I have two Wizards. One is a Lightning build based around Electrocute, Hydra, Arcane Orb, and Black Hole. My other skill slots are for buffs. Main support items are Triune Orb and Focus/Restraint. It's currently successful at T6, possibly T7 if I feel brave. My other Wizard uses Disintegrate, Fire Hydra, Black Hole, and Archon. I've got 4 pieces of Vyr's and am hunting Chantodo's to fill that one out. It runs reasonably well at T5.

Getting resistance to CC on gear is the best way to get out of those effects but I almost never have the luxury of rerolling secondary stats. Heck, I've burned up about 70 percent of my pre-patch supply of Death's Breath transmuting stuff.

Just my opinion, but I'd feel safer sticking an escape skill into the build even if it means sacrificing a little DPS. For me, I'm running Mirror Image (Duplicates) + Black Hole (Event Horizon). 5 Black Holes eat up field effects and also help with crowd control far more effectively than a single one will.

What I like to do is run both Teleport and Mirror Image and dedicate myself to using the Illusionist passive. I've been doing this ever since I've had my wizard (about 2 years). Naturally, I fell in freaking love with the Delsere's Magnum Opus set and a cubed Crown of the Primus. Fun times for sure! evil grin

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.

My builds for almost every class end up being a light attack, a big attack, a self buff, a long cooldown, an escape, and a wild card ability.

Only my wizard doesn't follow this (because Tal Rasha's actually needs four attacks), and I don't have a witch doctor yet.

I try to use one primary attack, one spender, one cooldown, and a lot of passives. Problem with more than one spender is that resources are finite, so one of them will go unused.

I tried that, with Cleave as my primary damage utility and Wrath/Earthquake for cooldowns, but it didn't do enough DPS.

Leapquake with berserker fury is the way I'm most familiar with for zero spend barb, yeah.

My zero spend Barb is a Raekor barb. With Frenzy as my main skill, coupled with Undisputed Champion Belt and my ancient Bastion's Revered. 10 Frenzy stacks!

Well, I finally got full Tal Rasha's on my Wizard tonight and... WTF. You have to be a bit pro at button mashing to maintain the full 600% bonus but stuff just goes splat in record time.

In order to get all the activators for the four elements, I chose four active skills:

  • Disintegrate (Entropy) — I had Intensify when it was a pure Arcane build, but that doesn't make sense now. The shorter range is covered by my other spenders.
  • Hydra (Blazing Hydra) — Fire activator and a nice stacking dot for single-target fights. I thought about Mammoth Hydra but it's too slow.
  • Meteor (Thunder Crash) — Lightning activator, not much else to say. I like the up front damage and the persistent AoE.
  • Energy Twister (Mistral Breeze) — Cold activator, good persistent damage.

Support skills are Energy Armor (Energy Tap) and Magic Weapon (Conduit) for sustainability. Passives are Astral Presence, Elemental Exposure, Unwavering Will, and Audacity. The former again increases resource availability and the latter three are damage multipliers.

Kanai powers are Burst of Will for more sustain, Andariel's Visage because I couldn't find anything better, and Convention of Elements for an extra 200% damage multiplier. I need a better one-hander.

Edit: I tried this on T7 and found that I'm still too squishy. I know people talk about escape abilities... but when mobs take 80% of your health in a single charge attack, there's only so much dodging that's possible.

Bam! Finally got a Ring of Royal Grandeur! Snagging its power with Kanai's let me create a Wizard build that has the full set bonus from Firebird's and Blackthorne's, as well as Focus/Restraint. I also have a Krelm's Buff Bracers for even more immunity. This inspired me to dump my Lightning build and go with a Fire one. So far it's easily beating T7. Profile

I have a question about pets that nobody seems able to answer: what effects proc off of them? Area-effect damage? "On-hit" effects from gear? Obviously, effects that go off on spellcasts don't proc, but I can't find any kind of definitive list of what does and does not work.

[up][up]They made area damage work on pets in the latest patch. Just from experience, I'm pretty sure that on-hit effects don't work.
