Even if foetuses aren't people the it's still the offspring of the mother and sperm provider. It's arguable that while the fetus isn't a human being it's still Filicide. Much the same way killing a police dog makes you a cop killer.
hashtagsarestupidWhich is a stupid as hell law.
Yeah, there's no inherent value in the human species by virtue of their being humans. If human beings go to war with the Navi because we want their unobtanium, we're in the wrong, and we should lose.
Wait, what?
But that's just because the Navi were hot blue space elves. If they were scary, slimy insect people, we probably would have nuked them without a second thought.
Technical filicide, eh? Does that mean that if a woman miscarries, that's technical involuntary manslaughter? Or technical criminal negligence if it was caused by something she did? Hmm...
What we would have done and what we should do are two entirely separate sets of actions.
Well, the Navi weren't as smart as we are.
One human, of average intelligence, was able to learn their entire culture and become the top male within weeks.
Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.Oh, that is true.
I think I may have overanalysed that movie, though.
Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.The Navi probability killed their sickly young anyway.

hashtagsarestupidLet's not turn this into a discussion of Film.Avatar 'mkay?
Fight smart, not fair.
It's "your own kind" in the sense that it has your kind's DNA; it doesn't have feelings or experiences or thoughts... (EDIT: Not in the first few months at least) you know, the kind of thing we'd associate with an individual's life. Which brings us back to the main topic...
