-It was hard to believe that it was only two months ago when we were all worried about the end. That we were all going to be burned alive by some superheated ash cloud. I guess it's true about what they say about going through a near death experience and it throwing things into relief-

-Hitting concrete-

<Vektor: "Er... I think we hit a sidewalk...">

-And begins digging forward-

-Vektor's always looked down on himself for a number of things... Real dragons aren't scared of needles... Or doctors... Or dig through the dirt like moles... Or cry when they're afraid... And "What on earth would everyone think of me if they knew about the Orange Islands?" was a common one... I mean, it's hard to admit that you let yourself get convinced that the solution to trying to deal with being treated like a freak was to try and extort a god, even if your initial reaction was "Oh Arceus, this is gonna get us all killed"-

-While starting to breach the surface-

<9-Volt: "... See anything?">

<Vektor: "... I think I can see the sandbox where the human kids play.">

-While exiting the tunnel-

-But after two months ago... He really stopped to think about what he had. Yes, life had sucked after he initially got captured, and he still wishes that he didn't have to carry around the scars of what that lab in Holon did to him... But in the end... He realized that in spite of all of that, he was happy with what had become of him... He found a kind trainer... One who still loved him even when she got upset with him. Like the time he wound up destroying those hedges in front of the house by digging. Teammates who looked out for him and didn't seem to really care that he was so different from them... And that 9-Volt rat... He seemed so eager to get to know him. It's almost as if he knew him from before! But it's not like that could be possible...

... Right?-

<Vektor: "Uh? Kibago? Who are you talking to?">

<Kibago: "... Don't worry about it. Now... I believe that you spotted the sandbox?">

-And the two make their way to the playground equipment, dirt-caked plushie in tow-

<Kibago: "... Also, tell Carol to add more softener this time.">
