- Unnamed Female Trainer is using her Good Rod to fish for some Pokémon for her Haunter to train against -

The Haunter: (looks rather bored)

Unnamed Female Trainer: (looks over at her Haunter) ... You're never happy, are you?

The Haunter: <... Meh.>

Unnamed Female Trainer: (smiles) You know, it's a shame I can't understand what you're saying. I bet you have all sorts of interesting stories to tell, huh?

The Haunter: <...>

Octavia: (watching them) <If only she knew...>

Thunderbolt: <Yeah...>

-Vyvyan starts tracing circles in the sand-

Vyvyan: I dunno, it just sounds like something... self centered to talk about.

Sierra: Oh, I don't mind. Go ahead, if you want to. (smiles)

Slateport

Vyvyan: Well... let's start from the very beginning. A very good place to start.

You see... I grew up in Fallabor Town, just outside of the ashfields where I used to play as a kid. My "Parents" were... sorta there for when I was an only child, but non-entities when my little sister came along... I wasn't the sharpest knife in the block, but I knew why.

I was adopted. They never stated it outright, but if someone was to look at any pictures of my family, I looked nothing like my adopted parents. Both of them had brown eyes, black hair that was straight as a ruler and rather straight faces to match... me on the other hand...

-Vyvyan pulls down his hood-

Vyvyan: As you can see; I have blue eyes, mousy-brown hair that is... untameable to say the least and a rather rounded face

So when I asked if I could go start my Pokemon journey. They were all over it, anything to get me out of the house really.

I guess I was just The Unfavorite, just some sort of outcast that didn't really fit in anywhere or belong anywhere.

Those were the first of my troubles in the long run...

Sierra: Oh... (pats Vyvyan's shoulder) Sorry to hear that. I guess I can sort of relate since... no wait, maybe I can't, or... Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt. Go on.

-has woken up a while ago, is continuing to explore Mauville-

Mauville

- Has woken up and is now... training my Pokémon, probably -

Another part of Mauville

- Unnamed Female Trainer and her Pokémon are walking back to Mauville, the girl's Ponyta and Musharna discussing Team Magma and Team Aqua -

The Haunter: (muttering quietly to himself) <Hmph... Didn't anyone ever tell those foolish teams that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"!?>

Last night

After saying good bye to Gene and the others, and a quick argument and make up with Argo, Crewe wanders out of town, eventually falling asleep under a tree.

Dream World

Having wandered around for a little bit, Crewe has found a Taillow. After a brief conversation, the two start a game of hide-and-seek tag, with the Taillow evading and Crewe chasing.

Smelling the Taillow behind a tree, Crewe blends into the shadows and sinks into a crouch, slowly stalking towards the small bird Pokemon.

-has gone down to the shores of Mauville, takes out Fade for exploration purposes-

Okay, let's see what's on the other side of the water.

-starts to lift off-

-and a MASSIVE Gyarados rises from the sea in Every's path-

AAAAAAHHHHHHH!

-turns around and flies Fade back into Mauville, narrowly escaping a Hyper Beam-

-Is awake, and hearing muttering from the other side of a locked door-

Rex: Oh, hi, every. What have you been up to? *waves to Fade*

-dropped to the ground by Fade, who waves back at Rex-

....Never....ever...try to fly that water route on the coast of Mauville.

Rex: ...? *looks confused* If you say so. Felix and I just got back from going to the Game Corner. They don't give Pokemon away as prizes here, though...

Felix: *is still mulling over Crewe's transformation and Mezzo's words*

Ooh, a Game Corner? Cool.

-notices Felix-

Er...are you okay?

Fade: -sinks into the ground-

Dream World

After a brief chase, Crewe pins the Taillow, purring. The bird Pokemon trills and laughs, but her eyes suddenly widen and she let's out a squawk of alarm, struggling to get up. Crewe tilts her head and looks at her curiously, then suddeny recoils, paws over her ears, and in a flash levee the Dream World.

Real World, outside Mauville

Crewe's eyes snap open to see the Taillow from the DW pinned beneath her claws, struggling frantically and letting out loud alarm calls. Horrified, she pushes the bird away and stumbles back, running into a tree.

<I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!> she yells after the small bird as it flies away, continuing to yell for a little while even after it disappeared from view.

Clawing at her arm, leaving deep scratches, she forces the armband off and kicks it a short distance away, then sinks down and sits at the base of the tree, hugging her knees to her chest.

Felix: I'm fine...just analyzing this from a scientific perspective. *frowns a bit before nodding his head* I believe I've come up with a rational explanation for the oddities that follow you all. Your...ability to transform into Pokemon causes you to assimilate the quirks and oddities of the shape that you take. From what Rex has told me, there is only one form for each of you, and you are capable of evolving. Therefore, by studying your behavior patterns on the walk over, I believe that I have understanding of the Pokemon that comprise your natures.

He turned to Every, continuing to speak.

Judging both by your plain appearance and your interaction with that Pokemon on the Route outside of the city, I would surmise that you are capable of becoming a Dunsparce. It also explains why you tend to use your Pokemon to fly so frequently, usually ending up experiencing some kind of trouble as a result. Dunsparce don't really fly too often, since they aren't good at it...not to say that your Pokemon aren't. Just that it doesn't seem as though it ends well for you.

Next, he turned to Rex.

Were I to examine you, I would guess a Spinda. I'm not fully familiar with Hoenn's species, but it would explain the oddity of your hair in relation to a Spinda's spots. You also frequently seem to daydream or have a goofy air about you, akin to a Spinda's dizziness.

He turned to Mezzo finally, peering closely at her.

I'm having trouble guessing what you might be, though if I were to guess it'd would be a Murkrow. I would assume that it was a dark-type due to your clothing and the fact that your team seems to be the same. You associate with Pokemon that you feel are similar to yourself, similar to a murder of Murkrow.

He paused, realizing that he'd been rambling on quite a bit and felt somewhat embarrassed.

Ah...erm...I didn't mean to treat you all like lab subjects. Excuse me.

Rex: *is blown away by the Ace Attorney level of logic*

Rex: Hmmm, you're right about me. And I would assume every as well. Not sure about Mezzo, though. She strikes me as more of a cat person. *turns to every* Anyway, you got your badge yesterday? What was the Gym Leader like? Ohm said the Gym Leader of Rustboro is a bookworm and the one in Dewford is a wrestler.

After a few minutes, Crewe slowly gets to her feet. She pulls a bandage out of her bag and wraps it around her bleeding arm. She looks over at the armband laying on the ground a few feet away and briefly considers leaving it, then remembers it doesn't belong to her and shoves it deep into her bag.

Taking a few shaky breaths to steady herself, Crewe walks back into town, heading for the group.

Coming up quietly behind Every, she taps him on the shoulder.

"Can I talk to Jab, if he's awake?" she murmurs, rubbing along the bandage.

-Dana is curled up on Steven's head, while Steven is still moving to catch up to the group-

-bends down to pet Lumen, hopefully not getting Static'd-

You're correct about me, though Mezzo's a Purrloin, not a Murkrow.

(To Rex) Wattson...he's weird. Kept making all these electricity puns.

-starts at being tapped by Crewe, but lets out Jab for her-

Jab: <Hello!>

Crewe takes a few steps away from the group, motioning for Jab to follow. She crouches down to be at his eye level.

"Jab, have you ever... hunted... in your sleep?" she asks quietly, still rubbing the bandage with one hand.

Jab: <...In my sleep? I don't think so, but I've fought in my sleep a few times.>
