- Katsuki is an ally of Kuro, instead of being a bully or a rival, as he plans on saving him in Broken Silence. This happens way earlier than any positive change that occurred in canon.
- Thanks to the loyalty Kuro demonstrates by defending Shigaraki and Kurogiri, Stain chooses to ally himself with the league.
- At first, Shigaraki sees Kuro as nothing more than a tool but after the incident with Stain, it turns more into a disaster siblings kind of relationship.
- Since Izuku isn't a student at Yuuei, Shouto doesn't engage him in a fight at the Sports Festival, and since he only meets Kuro there for the very first time, he isn't as strongly influenced by his words and doesn't use his flames as he did in canon, and as they quickly parted ways, they don't become friends.
- Instead of Izuku, All Might takes Mirio as his successor.
- Adults Are Useless: Inverted, As All Might not only believes Katsuki's whispered words during the awards ceremony; he also seeks him out and assures him the pros will be taking action to rescue Midoriya Izuku. And even though he'd rather hope it's not All For One, he shows he's not naive enough to do that.
- Affectionate Nickname: Played straight with Kuro, as he still refers to Katsuki as 'Kacchan'.
- Inverted With Katsuki, as his nickname of Izuku, 'Deku', was never intended to be affectionate.
- Alternate Universe Fic: Midoriya Izuku gets killed and turned into a nomu.
- Amnesiac Hero: Kuro is this as he can't remember his life as Midoriya Izuku for much of the Silent Shadow story.
- The Atoner: Katsuki, starting from when Izuku saved him from the Sludge Villain. This is especially apparent in the sequel, Broken Silence as Katsuki doesn't lose his cool during the Sports Festival's award ceremony (even though he came in second to Todoroki) and instead focuses on enacting his plan.
- Back from the Dead: Kuro, as he was resurrected by All for One's Doctor.
- Cassandra Truth: It was what Katsuki was afraid of happening if he tried to tell anyone that Kuro is Midoriya Izuku as he was the only one to hear him speak.
- Character Development: Izuku's death brought so much of this on Katsuki.
- Died in Your Arms Tonight: Izuku dies in Katsuki's arms.
- Eccentric Mentor: Gran Torino, as shown by his prank followed quickly by a demonstration of just how fast he is. Katsuki refered to it as Lightspeed.
- Gen Fic: There are no romantic pairings.
- In Spite of a Nail: Despite being practically forced into villainy, Kuro still keeps his heroic nature shown especially when he saved Katsuki in the USJ attack and, in Broken Silence, Tenya from Stain.
- My God, What Have I Done?:
- Katsuki is hit with strong guilt for everything he's done to Izuku.
- All Might also suffers from this as he blames himself for what happened to Izuku due to his last words to him that he believes caused the boy's dream to be put down which caused his death, even now he can still recall how the boy looked like when he died (Earserhead mentioned that All Might held onto Izuku hand when the medic announced that the boy is dead) and how his mother Midoriya Inko screamed after seeing the corpse of her only son (The screams still echo in his mind as he can never forget that dreadful sound). Both of them are determined to save Izuku and return him home to his mother.
- Point of Divergence: All Might is too late to stop the Sludge Villain the second time, leading to Izuku's death.
- Role Swap AU: Instead of Izuku, Katsuki is Gran Torino's intern.
- The Speechless: Kuro is this as he mostly uses his phone for communication until he's finally able to say the single word 'Kacchan' during the USJ attack.
- Something Only They Would Say: When Kuro calls Katsuki 'Kacchan', as it was stated Izuku was the only one who called him that.
- Stations of the Canon: So far the story has included glimpses of the Slime Villain incident, the USJ attack, the League's meeting with Stain, the attack on Hosu, and Tenya Iida's vigilantism.
- Switching P.O.V.: In Broken Silence, we mostly see the story from both Kuro and Katsuki's perspectives.

- At the end of the USJ attack, he had no choice but to leave with Kurogiri, otherwise he'd risk Katsuki getting killed.
