Rex: *blinks and sits up in bed, noticing the knock* Oh, hi Silent. You can come in; I'm awake.

"Thanks. See... I'm about to leave for Pummelo and I wanted to know if you are tagging along or catching up later."

Artesia is looking out to the horizon.

Mr. Briney: "Hohoho, I must say. That's a somewhat serious face you have on. A young girl like yourself needs to cheer up!"

Artesia gives a weak and forced smile then loses it again.

Mr. Briney: "Is there something on your mind? Perhaps this old man can help brighten your spirits."

Artesia tells Mr. Briney about her current goal as well as the events that happened since she arrived in Hoenn.

Mr. Briney: "Hahaha, is that all?"

"Huh?"

Mr. Briney: "It sounds to me you have to find these friends of yours. I mean, they seem to bring out your more lively side, which is what you need most at this time. Ah, we've arrived at Dewford."

Dewford Town

Artesia steps off the boat as Mr. Briney leaps down as well.

"Thank you very much for your advice."

This time, Artesia gave a genuine smile.

Mr. Briney: "There's one of those nice smiles."

As Artesia turns around and begins to leave, Mr. Briney pulls her backwards to whisper into her ear.

Mr. Briney: "It might help for you to know while I was on my last route on the Tidal, I noticed a man who looked not too different from you with a Squirtle."

Artesia's eyes widen.

"You're not joking are you?"

Mr. Briney: "Do I sound like I'd lie to you? Well, this man had the brightest smile whenever he was with his Squirtle. If he is who you're looking for, I'm sure you'd have one just as good."

Artesia quickly turns around and hugs Mr. Briney, tears cascading down both cheeks.

"Thank you. Thank you so much..."

Mr. Briney: "Ah, tis the least I can do."

Oh, it's nothing... Just sort of in a bad mood due to time either going too slow or too fast, and not really being able to fully control it... Or something among those lines.

Anyways, have you seen Marionette anywhere? Velvet and I think she might be in this cave somewhere.

Rex tilted his head as he watched the Masquerain's antics, not really sure what she was doing or saying. Giving a light shrug, he crawled out of bed, slipping his shoes back on and waving to the kinda-not-really-a-bug-anymore.

Rex: Erm...hi, Algira. You seem to be in an energetic mood today.

Zippy rose to a seated position, shaking her head to clear the fog before heading over to Rex, climbing onto his right shoulder.

Zippy: <What are we doing today?>

Rex: Oh, morning, Zippy. When did you get up?

He pat her head, the Raichu purring softly at the attention.

Rex: Anyway, we're going to hang out with Silent again today. See, Algira is waiting for us...I think.

Zippy: *tilts her head at the odd flashing*

Rex: Anywho, I'll just go get Forte; then we can discuss with Silent when we should go to Hoenn.

[AU] Cerulean Cave

The Glitch Nidorino is at the basement, standing before a river, examining the curious arrangements somemon has used to boobytrap the place. Merely for testing, the Glitch walks over a spot triggering a Psychic trap. Four spiky rocks fly at his positio and crush him, followed by a random Graveler catapulted into the place who uses Explosion and then the whole thing encased in a psychic bubble and tossed to the river.

A couple of instants later a purple smoke emerges from the river, floats to the edge of the rocks above and rematerializes into the glitch. The Nidorino shakes up, examines the place again, snorts, and walks away.

Zippy: *watches the hypnotizing patterns, blinking curiously* <Ohhhh...how pretty...   bzzz, add to the collective   ...>

Rex: *turns to recall his other sleeping Pokemon* Okay, come on, you two. Let's go find Forte.

- Nods -

Yeah.

Velvet: <Let's go!>

Deeper into the cave

Marionette: (still hugging Anom's arm in her sleep, mumbling something about wanting to bathe in fabric softener)

AU!Odette: <DS? Where are we?> (looks around) <Why aren't we at a contest, or even better, training so I can finally become the beautiful Swanna I deserve to be?>
