The Nidorino is growling at Stratus, casting a faint Leer.

"...Today is his birthday," Silent explains, a bit flustered.

-Is finally ready for his gym battle-

-Tangent and team approach Silent and Maekrite-

Basket: <Happy Birthday, Maekrite!>

Tangent: The kit I can still remember... is now an awesome solar-powered EX!

Rosary: *holds a sheet of paper nervously* <Wow... you're scarier up close...>

-Stratus shivers upon hearing Maekrite growling at him.-

Stratus: <Sorry, I Forgot! Eep!>

Chord: *Forelegpalms.* <And that's another party that's turned out to be a complete disaster.>

Woolly: <Hey! Don't write it off just yet!>

Stratus: <Um...Since it's your birthday, would you like to do the honors?> *Offers the cake to Silent and Maekrite.* <Dovah Los Faas!> *

Chord: <...What?>

Forte: Your Nidorino gets a birthday cake? Awesome!

-Jab kicks the ball at Slam, this time it just bounces off-

Jab: <Awww!>

-Salamence flies at the ball and smacks it towards Dreadwing again, Breeze floating forward as backup-

"Oh, yes... it took a couple of days and offscreen shenanigans to set this up. Ssshhh, it's not the only gift though!-"

At the mention of him having been a kit Maekrite blushes and shies a bit, but decides to still show himself proud. Then Maekrite smiles to Stratus.

Maekrite — <Yeah, thanks...> — blushes — <I'll split it!>

Silent lets Maekrite down and hands him a small knife.

"As much as the cake has Pecha, I can't let you split it with your horn, you know." Turning to Tangent. "Yeah, I remember those times back at ye olde building... I'm very proud that he has grown well."

<Ohh...>

Before splitting it, Maekrite turns to Tangent and mutters a thanks, smiling. Then he turns to Rosary, recognizing her from before.

Maekrite -to Rosary — <Oh, but if it is the cute little Scyther from the island!>

Rex: *comes over, watching everyone in confusion; upon mention of Maekrite's birthday, he looks surprised* Oh, it's a party? Happy Birthday, Maekrite! I wish I had known, otherwise I would've brought some gifts...

Lian: *seems confused*

Tangent: *grins at Maekrite*

Rosary: <Um... um...> *blushes*

<happybirthdayimadeyouacardhereyougo!> *throws her picture◊ in front of Maekrite*

Basket: *enters the clearing, awkwardly* <So now what...?>

Tangent: See if any look a lot like you maybe? Let them talk for now I guess...

Taylor: *speeds for Makuhita, the punch inching ever closer*

-Fade bounces the ball into the sky and over both Breeze and Salamence, then Jab takes it and passes to Butterscotch-

Roxanne: *notices Anom seems ready* Oh, goodie. Shall we begin?

Maekrite observes the picture.

Maekrite — <Oh it's me! it looks really cute...> — sniffs it while splitting the cake — <errr... what... what kind of paint did you use?>

Silent smiles at Luke, Tagg, Tangent,Rex, Juanito, Forte and Beat (yes we haven't forgotten you guys).

"Well, don't worry about gifts, it's the intention that counts. Plus I'm already handling that..." turning to Forte "Well, there's not much one can gift a Pokémon, perhaps, but I tried..."

Silent looks at Juanito, who lifts the package and shows it up.

"Ah yes... something from Goldenrod specially for you, Maekrite."

Silent starts giving out some pieces of true, actual cake for the others to eat.

Mandarin S, in the Past

The Tropius stares at Kaepora and looks at the others.

Stringybark — <Hey there, Kaepora, didn't expect to see you here... we are actually almost done foraging...> — hears the questions. — <Ma and Pa are by that side of the group...> — points to the overall direction Basket is facing with his leaves — <but why do you ask? Who are they?>

-Both Pokémon cross blows, but in the end, even Makuhita couldn't stand to the speed of the dreaded    Quick Attack   -

Makuhita fainted!

Brawly:"Hahaha! That's it! I lost and that's all there is to it. Congratulations. I hereby present you with this official Hoenn League Gym Badge."

May obtained the Knuckle Badge!

Brawly:"Don't forget! Stay Frosty! Go with the flow!"

Yep!

-Sends out Aipom-

I've moved on from just Bugs, as you can see.

Aipom: <Need a dispensah here!>

May: *accepts the badge with a grin* Thanks! You were a great battler! Oh, and sorry about the torch thing. *waves to Brawly and exits the gym*

Felix: *follows behind her* Wow...are all Gym Matches like that?

May: Usually. Sometimes you can sweep a gym if you have a type advantage, though.

Masque: *accepts the cake, giving a polite nod to Maekrite*

Rascal: *looks at his cake, hoping he doesn't come across as rude* <I don't really like sweets...>

Rex: You ate that Pecha Berry earlier...

Rascal: <I was delirious from poison...>

Rex: Oh, you picky picky mon.

Rascal: *sticks out his tongue*

-Forte grabs six more slices and sets them on the ground for his Eevees-

Juanito: "Thanks for the overtime, Dr. Silent."

Silent: "No problem, Juanito. Will get enough to pay for your daughter's piano?"

Juanito -eats some cake: "...I hope this time I will, yes."

Meanwhile, Silent has also let out his other Pokémon who are enjoying the cake and stuff. Copahue has gone to sit besides Harriet as stealthily as he can, but Treeo has noticed since he was sitting with her as well. Both males sit at each side of Harriet, noming in silence.

Shahinne flutters around.

Shahinne - pecks a random mon — <Hello!> — flies to the next mon — <What is a birthday?> — flies to the next mon — <What is a birthday?> — flies to the next mon — <I can see you!> — flies to the next mon — <Can I have a birthday?> — flies to the next poster in the party's random mon and sits there calling Ichtacya. — <Could you come over here?>

-stirs-

-checks clock- Sleptallday...

-sits up; stretches- Feeling much better, though. -yawns-

Rosary: <Um... I sketched with Sentret blood then used the stuff Tangent bought for the color...>

Tangent: *takes a slice of cake* Wonder what's in the box... probably more thought-out than my last-minute gift, oh well.

Pakaja: *noms cake, protecting his own small giftbox*

Cephas: *landed on by Shahinne* <h-hey! I'm not a perch!>

-Salamence pecks the ball along the field, then swipes it with her talons, sending it at Dreadwing again-

Rascal: *is pecked by Shahinne* <Ow! Alright, I'll eat the cake...> *nibbles, looking a little off put by the sweetness*

-Aipom laughs at the Magcargo, before taunting it-

Aipom: <Woosh! Nice hustle, tons of fun! I'm running circles around you!>
