Muninn: <Standards must have dropped in the last 7 millennia.>
-he mimes a yawn-
<Well, enjoy yourself, Ratty. I suppose I'll settle in.>
-he folds his arms, waiting to see what Ratigan has planned, and gathering his composure to ready for a mental attack-
Ever: Fuckening— shitknives.
PEFE!Every: What?
Ever: I don't know. Felt I had to say something. Fuck.
PEFE!Every: What's going on?
Ever: He's not responding to summonings. There's no situation where that's a good thing.
-he sighs, and takes out his laptop to begin rearranging his team-
I've got to go Mimikyu hunting now.
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.Archer looks smug.
All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.Beep-O: <Perhaps we should settle in and prepare first, reload some of our weapons, all that.>

Evan: Uh, what?
Vierr: All right, I take that back. You're fooling someone. Excellent work.
Kai: Some people are just really good at gathering information, huh?
-She suppresses a giggle-
And suddenly fanfic mode!
A figure steps off a train that had just arrived in the station, travelling a fair way from the north of the country. The figure is a familiar one to us; a tallish, lanky figure - shrink wrapped and skeletal in appearance with long, powder white hair and and inky, black substance pouring from his body like a fountain, freezing into crystalline structures even in the [Italian] afternoon heat.
He peers around the station, smiling to others with a holey toothy grin, but it only scares off your average traveler. After all, people came to the station to get from Designated Point A to Designated Point B - not to stare in what looks like the face of Death itself.
This did not phase our friend, however. He was used to this sort of reaction from the unknowing public by now, and honestly, he couldn't blame them. He did look deathly and uncanny, after all, someone who should have been put in the ground years ago. But this reception from the average eye didn't bother him in the slightest. He just chuckled to himself, picked up his suitcases and began his trek to his destination.
The walk was rather pleasant, as always. Figy trees dotted the roadside alongside the holm oaks, [Aleppo] pines, oleander and olive trees while rows of macchie sprig all along the cliff-face and vines clamber up various buildings and houses. A somewhat romantic picture, what with the sea in the background, just the exact sort of image you want in your brain when visiting your ex~
The house was fantastically positioned. Right on the top of the hill overlooking the beautiful ocean, with an array of poppies and lillies planted neatly in rows leading up the the beige-coloured Mediterranean villa. It was rather stunning, especially with the sun behind it.
Volpe approached the house. While he was on pretty good and friendly terms with everyone in it, there was always still a slight sense of unease about regardless. Maybe it was just the nature of constantly meeting up with your ex-boyfriend (who you admittedly, kinda treated like shit in his time of need) due to being the biodad of two of his kids does tend to carry an air of awkwardness around it, but it could be worse.
It could be his first ex.
Volpe shook himself out of his thoughts as he approached the door to the casa and gave it a few hearty knocks, slightly bracing himself for whoever opened the door.
Thankfully, it was a friendly face. A taller, well built man with short - light coloured hair and icy eyes, whose face lit up into a smile upon seeing a familiar fellow in the doorframe.
Domenico: Volpe!
Volpe: Domenico!
The two exchange a silly ""secret"" handshake - a few slaps of the hand, a fistbump, and a wiggling of the the fingers followed by an "ooo" - before giving each other a hearty pat on the back with a warm laugh (which was welcome considering how much ice Volpe was naturally producing).
Volpe: How has it been boun amico?
Domenico: Pretty good! Can't complain~ Things have been quiet at work recently, but as you know, that's a welcome situation for us.
Volpe places his hands on his hips and gives his friend a sly smirk.
Volpe: Things are quiet around here? For a policeman? I almost don't believe it! Are the mafia paying you off there, Dom~?
Domenico gives Volpe a slight scowl, but before he could retort to Volpe's jokey accusation, the pitter-pattering of small feet come rushing towards door.
???: Papa! Papa!
Volpe smiles as he opens up his arms.
Volpe: Bambino!
The child jumps into Volpe's arms as Volpe swings him around, hugging him dearly and peppering the child's cheek with an array of icy kisses.
Volpe: How are you doing, mio Tesorino~?
The child giggles. The little boy looks a surprisingly lot like his father - Icy blue eyes with shoulder length white hair, though the child's hair was way more tussled and curled, and his "hair flips" were more rounded compared to Volpe's.
???: I'm doing well Papa!
Domenico ruffles the kids' hair with a smirk.
Domenico: Leone here has been practicing his "thief catching skills" lately by rounding up all the stray Pokemon in the streets with his Luxio, Farna.
Volpe gives a small hum as he places Leone back on the ground with a sterner expression on his face.
Volpe: Now, Leone. You should be careful when wandering the streets, tussling with Pokemon you don't know! You could get hurt!
Leone hums back and looks Volpe with a slightly sad expression.
Leone: But Papa I just want to help others and be a hero! Like you and babbo!
Volpe: Mamma mia... There are other ways of being a hero, mio tesorino...
Domenico makes a guffing noise in response to Volpe.
Domenico: Hey! Volpe! Don't get the kid down! -To Leone- Keep doin' what you're doin, cucciolo~
The boy smiles and sticks his tongue out at Volpe.
Leone: See Papa? Even Babbo agrees with me!
Volpe gives a resigned sigh as he plants one more kiss on his son's cheek.
Volpe: Ok... Just... Be careful, alright?
Leone: I will Papa! -Giggles- Your kisses are cold, Papa~
???: Everything about Papa is cold though, Leone...
Volpe looks up to see a young girl around Leone's age standing in the hallway. She greatly resembles her brother, only her hair is shorter with black streaks in it and her eyes a brown. Volpe smiles softly at her.
Volpe: Tigre! Tesorina! I was wondering where you were, bambina~
Domenico chuckles.
Domenico: Tigre was being a good girl and finishing off her homework. -Looking over to Leone- Have you finished yours, cucciolo?
Leone waves at his stepdad, obviously.
Leone: I-I-I'm almost finished! Honest! I just got two more questions to do...
Tigre: He hasn't even started yet~
Leone: Tigre!
Volpe and Domenico laugh at the display.
Domenico: You better get started soon, Leone. Padre will not be happy with you if he finds out you haven't started yet.
Volpe's expression becomes tinged with a slight veneer of sadness.
Volpe: Where is Marco anyway, Dom?
Before Domenico could respond, a calm yet sharp voice cuts through the air.
Marco: Right here, Volpe.
The figure of Marco stands at the end of the hall. A man well renowned for his beauty, he's a tall figure, with brown skin and short, wavy, jet-black hair and sharp brown eyes that could cut through steel. An image of poise and glamour if there ever was one, which is probably why he has such a flourishing career as an in-demand model.
Clutching his leg was a small girl (no older than five) with similar jet-black hair and icy-blue eyes, who clutched onto his leg harder once seeing the Lich-like form of Volpe in the doorframe.
Leone and Tigre: Padre!
The twins run towards their father, who smiles and hugs them.
Marco: Now I heard one you has not finished their homework yet. Leone.
Tigre looks at her brother with a sly smile (not unlike the one Volpe flashed earlier). Leone looks at his father with a slightly panicked expression.
Leone: Ehehe'... I only have a few more questions to do?
Marco leers slightly, a smile on his face.
Marco: Then it shouldn't take you long to finish your homework, right Mimmo~?
Leone quickly mutters a "Nope!" as he rushes up stairs towards his room. Tigre chuckles as she looks at her father expectantly.
Marco: -Chuckling- You don't need my approval to play downstairs, Mimma. You've already finished your homework, after all~
Tigre: Yay!
Tigre rushes off into the living room, leaving the adults + one child alone in the hallway. Domenico walks over to Marco and kisses him on the cheek.
Domenico: Buon pomeriggio, angelo~
Marco kisses him back.
Marco: Buon pomeriggio, amore~
Domenico: I'll go in the kitchen and prepare the coffee, va bene?
Marco: Va bene, amore~
Domenico leaves for the kitchen, leaving just Marco and Volpe staring at each other from across the hall. The atmosphere is the slightest bit tenser, the slightest bit sadder, now that the buffers are gone.
Volpe looks down and sighs, before looking back up at Marco with a sad smirk.
Volpe: Hey Marco. Everything goin' alright lately?
Marco responds with a sad smile of his own.
Marco: Things are well, Volpe. Same as always.
Marco's expression goes a little more dour.
Marco: I'm assuming that's the same situation with you, unfortunately.
Volpe halfheartedly raises his hands.
Volpe: Ya' got me red-handed there, Marco.
Marco: -Sternly- That's not a thing to be proud of...
Volpe: -Flatly- Do I sound proud to you?
The silence returns for another moment, as Volpe turns his attention to the young child clutching Marco's leg and smiles at her.
Volpe: And how is little Franchesca doing~?
The smile returns to Marco's face.
Marco: She's doing well. -Gently stroking his daughter's hair- She recently started her first day at school, even~
Volpe gets down on one knee and smiles at the girl.
Volpe: Ooh, that's a big step! Are you enjoying school so far, little one?
The little girl tugs on her father's leg even harder, slightly obscuring her face behind it.
Volpe: -Hair flips depressing- I think she still finds me a little scary...
Marco: -Flatly- Most people find you terrifying, Volpe. -Hums- To think you were once handsome, you know.
Volpe: Touche. And I know.
Volpe holds his hand out in front of the girl, forming a swirl of crystals, enrapturing her attention. He then forms the crystals into a variety of shapes; first a spire, then the image of a Rapidash, before finally bursting the figure into a flurry of snowflakes around the girl.
She gasped in awe, before smiling, clapping and giggling at the flurry of snowflakes around her - making Volpe smile.
Marco: -Smiling- You have a strange way with children for someone who doesn't have the energy for them, Volpe.
Volpe stands up and looks at his ex.
Volpe: Kids deserve the best. It's just not possible for me to provide it constantly...
Marco hums as he turns around and gestures towards the kitchen.
Marco: Come, Volpe.
Marco begins to walk away.
Marco: We have a lot to talk about.
Part 2 coming soonish.

I'm having to learn to pay the priceSure enough, as Muninn predicted it, after some time has passed a mental attack comes, trying to search his mind for the tiara plans.

-it used to be the case that a psychic attack against Muninn would be met with sufficient telepathic reprisal to leave the attacker on life support-
-this isn't the case now-
-Muninn's defenses are functional. He's had a lot of practice, as any Latios would, growing up among other telepaths. An embarrassing secret, your first crush or the code word to get into you and your sister's childhood fort, would be awkward indeed if anyone could simply pluck them from you-
-But they're not backed up by anything any more. Another piece of his legacy lost to him. He thinks about that, his focus shifts from there to the Demon Mutagen to other things he's invented-
-and there's the knowledge for the taking-
Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.A bit after these thoughts are gathered, Ratigan receives a psychic ping with them.
He decides, well, he doesn't need the Mimikyu now, but what fun would it be to get rid of him here. Besides he might not know he was taken and could always be used for a bargaining chip for later...

Ever: Wanna kill some people?
Spathi: <I've got mixed feelings.>
Salamence: <I'm down!>
Brie: What?
Ever: Uh, so, Muninn's kind of disappeared, and I'm pretty sure there's some sort of foul play going on?
Brie: Huh? Mimikyu are tough, but they're not that—
Ever: No, foul play, not Foul Play.
Brie: Oh.
Ever: ...So, uh, any chance you can help in the search efforts?
Brie: Sure! What do you need?
-Ever blinks at her, filing something away-
Ever: Uh, well, you've got fliers, I'm mostly just looking to cover ground.
PEFE!Every: What if they teleported?

Brie: Ever no—
Ever: —grab Palkia by her EVA spikes—
