(Quirinus is sent sprawling by the force of the combined attacks. He, too, is left unconscious.)

(Hephaestus stares at the Pokeball in his hand. One can almost hear his internal struggle.)

Hephaestus: ...is it worth it? He's so very old... it would be a massacre...

(A few second's pause. Hephaestus's mask tilts to look at Krieg's face; the sight of a scarred visage makes him visibly shudder beneath his thick layers of red clothing.)

Hephaestus: ...I suppose I no longer have a choice. Go, Elagabalus.

(He gingerly drops the ornate Pokeball at his feet. When it opens, the light it emits seems initially oddly reluctant to move. Slowly, with movements that clearly take a considerable toll, it forms the shape of a Kantonese Ninetales. One glance makes it obvious this Ninetales is incredibly old - his fur is matted and dull, his limbs shivery and arthritic-looking, his eyes milky and unseeing in sockets that sink slightly into his head thanks to the lines of age. Slowly, Elagabalus raises his head into the air and sniffs it deeply, his blind eyes not moving at all.)

Elagabalus: <....what's goin' on here?>

Colton approached Quirinus' unconscious form. "Could someone restrain him? I need to have a few words with him."

Amaterasu made her way to the scene, the Shiny Ninetales looking at the other Fire-type.

She had been suppressing her Drought at this point, but her tails were all lit at the tip with flames alternating between blue and red. Just in case.

-Dune pulls himself out of the snow.-

-Krieg takes a deep sniff-

Kreig: ....... Never mind, that's just the smell of old hair, piss, and something that could die any second......

-Krieg looks to The Rock and Lyn. They nod together and try to flank the Ninetails with an Accelrock and a Rock slide. Meanwhile Al use the walls to enclose Quirinus inside a cube, with only his head free.-

(Elagabalus grunts as the Rock-type attacks collide with him. His limbs shudder as if about to give way...)

(...except they don't. He remains standing. Then a tiny smile creeps up the corners of the Ninetales' mouth.)

(Closing his eyes, Elagabalus starts to pace in circles around The Rock and Lyn. As he moves, something about him changes drastically. His legs grow straighter and stronger with every step he takes, until he's quickly moving with a powerful, striding gait. The mange on his fur seems to disappear; suddenly, the silvery colour of his fur looks downright majestic, the patches start to look an awful lot more like healed-over scars than they did at first. Even his face looks a lot less lined and far more strongly defined.)

Elagabalus: <Y'know, for a few seconds there I was willing to give y'all a chance. Sure, it smelled like a battlefield the moment I got out of my ball, but... give peace a chance, y'know? See whether y'all were willing to listen to reason and leave while ya still could.>

(A deep, resonant chuckle.)

Elagabalus: <But no. Y'all see a poor, defenseless old mon who can barely stand up straight, and the first thing ya do is try and knock his lights out. I ain't got no patience for that kinda dirty tactics.>

(He stops smack bang in the middle of the battlefield.)

Elagabalus: <So now I'm gonna offer y'all a different choice. Either ya run for the hills right now...>

(His grin turns downright vicious.)

Elagabalus: <Or ol' Elagabalus gets his first real fight in years. Whaddaya say?>

While Colton and Helmsman were booking it, the Ultra Ball in his pocket opened up. They didn't notice his Lucario landed three-point, adjusting his Expert Belt from his eyes up to his forehead.

His Aura flared as he advanced towards the twisted Aura possessed by that Ninetales. An Aura Sphere in one paw and a Flash Cannon on the other.

<Bring It,> he whispered to himself.

-Sorceress!Gudrunn twists Modern!Gudrunn's arm towards her face.-

Sorceress!Gudrunn: To keep things simple I'll stick to three steps for now. Step one! Get a cure for these stings so you can get your Obscura powers back in full and not in part like they have been! You want this back, don't you?

-She lets go of Modern!Gudrunn and splays out her hands, firing Dark Pulses into the air and summoning Obscura constructs from the ground. Modern!Gudrunn yelps and recoils as the Zoroark munches popcorn-

Leeya's always reliable for these sorts of things! Ask her about it!

-She summons another Obscura mirror that shows Jelly Belly-

Next, track down that Nihilego that screwed our plans over in the first place and teach it a lesson! And perhaps force it to do our bidding as punishment... Those Beast Balls could come in handy!

She dismisses the mirror and leans in close to Modern!Gudrunn-

Last but not least... You do remember our acquaintance-slash-crush of the unfathomable power persuasion?

Modern!Gudrunn: -gasps- Th-them?

Sorceress!Gudrunn: Bingo. They may have left a special something behind just for us. Talk to a man in black named Izaya to find it.

Modern!Gudrunn: Right...

Sorceress!Gudrunn: That'll be all for now... But remember, Gudrunn. You have so much potential... Shame to waste it as a shell of your former self, you know? But, toodles!

-She cackles and envelops herself in a cocoon of Obscura that quickly shrinks and disappears. The Zoroark then pulls an Obscura lever dropping the chair Modern!Gudrunn is sitting on into an abyss sending her screaming and falling and screaming and falling- -

Reality

-Until she wakes up, slowly composing herself-

Gudrunn: Should... Should I really...

-She sits up and twiddles her fingers-

-Eventually she clenches her fists and heads off-

Frieden: Can't. If I do, he'll bite my hand down hard enough for the teeth to sever the Flexor Digitorum Superficalis, and that means I'll have to harvest one of my cloned organs and muscles just for one muscle that thanks to the strength and pressure of a Sandile bite is too damaged to reattach and thus needs to be replaced. And that takes a shit long time that I don't have. Just ignore him, much easier.

Notorious B.I.G: <Bitch, why you all suddenly quiet for, did I pluck the right string?>

-The Rock and Lyn is unfazed. They know that shit is gonna get worse if they run thanks to what Frieden was capable of. But backs off cautiously.-

Krieg: You and that goddamn anime trope... GEN!

-Gen here's Krieg and goes back to him.-

Krieg: Goddamn it....... Here's your Final countdown.

-The Hypnos walks up to Catha to use Dream eater. The Rock and Lyn goes to use Accelrock and Rockslide on Catha to make sure Catha doesn't wake up. Cro tries to use Mean look on the Ninetails, but most likely fail. Finally, Gen tries to let out a hoarse shriek that sends broken musical notes to every pokemon listening.

Hesitation and second thoughts kicked in. Lucario dispelled the Flash Cannon, instead this time now intentionally siphoning all of his Aura from his left paw.

He preferred his right paw, so little lost, but he still hoped he knew what he was doing.

He then dispelled his Aura Sphere for a fair fight, but given he only used it to buff his Aura again, it wasn't really "fair" anymore.

As far as he knew, he would be alone for this.

And that was fine.

And then he heard Perish Song.

60... 59... 58... He estimated.

(Eyes that are suddenly glowing like burning magnesium.)

Elagabalus: <Oh no you don't.>

(Heat quite literally explodes from Elagabalus like a star going nova. The force from his Drought activating alone is enough to easily knock any unprepared trainers and mons off their feet. The sky fills with a blazing light, so intense it causes the air to ripple with heat devils and instantly evaporates the thin layer of rain left by Helmsman. With these two sudden distractions leaving his opponents presumably stunned, Elagabalus, with a speed of which the average young Ninetales would be intensely jealous, lunges at Gen and clamps down on the Gengar with burning jaws. The sheer force of the attack is astonishing; it feels akin to being crashed into head-on by a bullet train.)

Aether Paradise

Lucario, his steel typing betraying him by making him susceptible to heat, told him everything.

<That's not Drought! That's practically DESOLATE LAND!>

A sense of urgency overcoming him, he lobbed an Aura Sphere, syncing it with the nearly corrupt aura betrayed by Elagabalus.

As this happened, his presence was now no doubt known. With his dominant paw now empty, he created some more... freeform... Aura around his paw.
