"Oh, I'm terrible with resolutions. Better grades? More exercise? Better diet? Never really worked, you know?"

-Blitz paused, then gave Sakura a little squeeze-

"So far, this year I think it's just 'be a bit nicer to myself'"

She hesitantly sits down.

"Well in some ways you're already my hero... Or at least one of them" He smiled back "And I still say as long as you're doing that 'silly Shingeko thing' then I'll be there watching your back. Assuming I don't get assassinated by a crazy fan or something"

Sarah: Honestly, I have no idea. My goal this year was to face the Hoenn League at full power, and I've already done that and gotten a job here at the Battle Frontier...

-Alduin and Gino both stare at Styx and blink-

Additionally, as of this post I'm on vacation in California in real life, so I'll be taking a pesudo-vacation from the RP as well! Aside from a few minor things, until I get back home January 8th, I'll be focusing solely on wrapping up the Delta Episode with the others involved in the main RP (which should hopefully start up again in next few days) and mostly focus on side things for the endgame and some out-of-RP stuff otherwise, though still keeping an eye on Discussion and such.

And happy new year! While who knows what's in store, this year's the 20th anniversary of a certain franchise with a very special place in my heart, and this RP based around said franchise with a similar special place in my heart turns 5... So big shout out to those.

-As the ghost is thrown into the box, there's a sound of scuttling as a tea cup crosses the living room and escapes into the ballroom-

Jacob: "..."

-He sighs- "Where do I even start? I feel like I'm wasting my life. Sure, I'm helping the world as a whole some times, but I feel like... all I ever do is drag down the people around me."

You don't trust other people.

"Right. Why should I? Everyone else in this group is... more good than anything else. When I found Eskay I... Robin said I... stand strong. In that note. But do I? I'm... I'm no hero. I don't protect. I can't protect. I only can attack. Destroy. That's evident in everything I do, my fighting style, my actions... which is hilarious because I'm a coward."

-The imaginary Jacob tilts his head- And...? So? That's just who you are. Why not be happy about it?

-He sighs and rolls his head back- "... It's just... frustrating. I can't protect anyone. This stupid mindscape excursion is making that clear to me. I can fight. I can be viscous. I can destroy things around me. I can destroy things that pose a threat to the people I care about. But I can't protect. I can't save. I just... I don't want to be alone again. But I feel like I'm going to be."

When were you ever alone?

"Oh you know what I mean. Emotionally isolated. I mean, look at it now. I found out I have a family. Verax spends most of his time either with Rose or off doing work, and Arceus only knows where Crow is off to now. I can't... I can't even talk to Hikari any more, I don't know where she is or what she's been up to. I can't even help the people I want to most."

Aahhhh, now this was really frustrating you. You feel like it's your responsibility to resolve everything in this relationship so it doesn't tank. Don't you think that might push her away even more? She's not some helpless damsel. She can broach the subject with you-

"But if she doesn't trust me or feel secure enough to open up to me, who does? Why would anyone? Does anyone care? Does anyone really like me as a person? What's the point? What's the point of any of this?"

"Last year, and the year before, and every year, I've hated today. I've hated tonight. Because while I see everyone I know spending it with people they care about and who care about them, I'm always off on my own. What's the point?? What is the point? I go through every day doing the same things never moving forward I just... I just... I want to be different. I don't want to feel like this any more and I..."

-The image fades as he feels a hand on his shoulder-

-Jacob looks up to see Regina kneeling beside him-

Regina: <... Sorry. I got worried when you vanished down her. I thought... you needed to get your mind clear.> -She sighs- <I guess this didn't help like I thought it would.>

Jacob: "..... Thanks. For... checking on me." -He sighs and lays his head back-

"... Could you keep me company for a few minutes while I clear my head?"

-She nods and the two sit together in silence for the first time in a long time-

Joe and Munn's Room

-after New Year's festivities, Joseph and Munn are alone in their room together-

Munn: ...honey?

Joseph: Mmm?

Munn: What's up. Talk to me.

Joseph: About...?

Munn: I think you know what.

Joseph: ...well, there's this thing. Seasonal...something disorder. It means that you feel more depressed in the winter months than in the summer ones, because there's less light or something.

Munn: ...so you think that's what it is?

Joseph: Could be. Either that, or...

-sighs-

Joseph: I dunno. I just wanna feel spritely again. Y'know? Just six months ago I was all happy and bubbly and puking rainbows everywhere, and now...?

-flomps on the bed-

Joseph: I just feel so flat. I want to get better. Maybe that's what it is, I dunno.

-Munn ruffles his hair-

Munn: You'll get out of this, sugar. I can tell.

-a small smile-

Joseph: Thanks, sweetie. Happy New Year.

-they tuck into bed-
