What was that?

-Runs over to the source of the sound-

-turns her head towards the noise, curious-

-It's only a short walk from the beach up to the village. Nobody pays much attention to me and Lake as we enter the village together.-

Hmm...This place seems quiet. I like things quiet.

Lake: <Really?>

Yep.

-I look around.-

No sign of the others.

Lake: <I'm sure they'll be here soon. Just give them a minute or two.>

It's nothing, Tagg. Nick is always breaking things.

- I walk over to Wolf and whisper to him -

You know, Jane and Tagg are right, Anom has been acting kind of strange lately... But, I guess it is none of our business. I mean, if he had something on his mind that he wanted to talk about, he would've told us already, right?

Sorry Anom, but I don't believe in this 'None of my business' nonsense. If something's wrong, I want to fix it.

-begins to march over to the cabin, intending to help this 'Nick' person-

You never know Anom.

-Goes to Booker's door and knocks on it-

-An exasperated old man opens the door. Behind him is a young man with an orange-and-white striped shirt and a bandanna. There are several broken pieces of wood on the floor-

Booker: Can I help ya?

Hmm...

-Something about the platform in the center of the village pikes my interest. I go over and walk up onto it. There isn't anything on it, apart from an odd symbol of some kind that is painted on it.-

Lake: <...Luke? What is it?>

-I look over at Lake.-

This symbol on the platform. There's something... Familiar about it...

We heard a noise and thought you needed help. Sir.

Yeah, it's kind of what we do, sir.

Booker: Oh, that's just Nick bein' an oaf.

Nick: Hey, I said I was sorry. Oh, no, now you're not going to speak to me. And then your voice box is going to atrophy. And then your brother is going to come for a visit one day and you won't be able to say "hi" and you'll argue again and then-

Booker: He does that. A lot.

-not wanting to lie to DS, but also not wanting to give away Anom's secret, I just nod-

Heheh... Well, do you need any help cleaning up or anything? I'd be glad to.

I see. I'm willing to help too.

Look at the colours on the edge here.

-I point to the edge of the symbol. Both sides are decorated with seven shapes of various lengths the resemble feathers. Each one if a different colour of the rainbow.-

These are the colours of the rainbow. I don't know why, but that seems significant somehow.

Lake: -Thinks- <...I have a feeling that whatever this represents is obvious...But I'm not getting it right now.>

-I shake my head.-

Me neither.

Lake: <I think you should ask Anom about it. He's the one who grew up around here. So if anyone's going to know...>

Yep, that's a symbol to Ho-oh, Luke.

It's purely decorative, though. The people here use it as a stage at festivals, among other things.
