So when is the Goon coming out?

Eric Powell's graphic novel is getting the animated treatment. Does anyone know when the hell this is coming out? I am really enjoying this.

It'll be like Hellboy, only with Animation Age Ghetto thrown in.

The funny thing is The Goon is inspired by Hell Boy, from my understanding this is likely to get released for the cinemas. I mean you got a high budgeted CG here that looks like its on the quality of Pixar. And you got Paul Giamatii as well as Clancy Brown. I think this could avoid the Animation Age Ghetto if we are lucky, but then again. The last movie that was CG that was PG-13 was 9. Didn't that bomb or something?

Last I heard, they're still looking for funding for the thing. It might be a while.

Yeah, that trailer, awesome as it is, was a self-funded demo reel designed to hook a studio into bankrolling the full production.

So are we talking 2013 here?

So its still in the development stages, but without any studio for anything major happening. Also, lets hope this doesn't get Screwed by the Network.

The project has been shelved, according to Paul Giamatti. The film was in production when suddenly the money ran out and the producers were unable to sell interest to investors.

Despite the fact that David Fincher is one of the producers.

This looked so exciting I mean what kind of investor couldn't get into this especially when Fincher is a producer.

Let's just hope it can pick itself up soon.

Man I wish I could donate to that but I can't as I have little money.

I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more. $190,960 pledged of $400,000 goal. Just wow.

This project deserves so much better.
