CA: The Case For Gay Miles Morales.

To which I reply, who cares about Miles Morales?

Everything that made his initial run beautiful and, for that matter, everything remotely interesting about him died with his universe. Now he's just a mere token, a Spider-Robin, someone with no focus or direction. A shell, stripped of his subtance. When the version of you portrayed in the Ultimate Shit-Stain of a cartoon has more substance than the original, you've got problems.

How about fixing that before making him a double token?

Yeah. But the article said "Who cares about Peter Parker" and my statement was a mirror of that. None of those characters are interesting since the reboot, and there's the whole "racist aunt" thing, and as of now he faces off against Generic Crimelord Black Cat which in itself is a load of bore... meh.

Seriously, Miles's mom from Ultimate Shit-Stain owns them all with a single swoop. This comic made me compliment that cartoon.

Felicia is not turning good she also tried harming Silk before gaining her as her partner. Besides Felicia is still acting like a crime boss not her old theiving self.

Tbf, the writer did say she still liked Peter but lately he had way too much in common with the likes of Tony Stark.

Speaking of LGBTQ, is Silk/Black Cat really a thing on the net? That's what it says on the ymmv section of Felicia's page.

As of now yes but that depends how you look at their relationship. To me Felicia is Cindy's mentor but evil.

as for Felicia turning good that was more the poster being hopeful. Thompson also discussed exploring why she was so angry in upcoming issues. honestly, the sooner it's over the better.

See my thing is say Felicia turns good then what? Will she turn back into her old teasing Peter character. Hate the mob boss turn, but it's something different. I got bored reading Felicia never going anywhere with her character. You mean the Daredevil thing? I didn't really like both of them being together....

They were going somewhere with her before OMD. She'd moved on from Peter and was forming relationships with other characters. The crime boss thing is just a regression.

I can see why people would ship Silk and Black Cat: Mostly because people will ship anything. But they don't really have that kind of friendship, at least not at this point. There's still a little too much mistrust between them. They do seem to be getting friendlier, though, and it's fun to watch.

The way to go would be to continue down the path Thompson's taking Black Cat: Morally ambiguous, committing crimes but also helping people. Move her away from the anger, let her be fun again. Maybe keep her as a Mob boss, but one who uses the position to still do good. So she smuggles weapons, but also forms a youth centre in a low-income community. That sort of thing.

Fuck that Miles article so goddamn much.

Yeah make her like Selina Kyle during her mob boss run which is like what they were going for to start with. I just don't want Felicia to just magically turn good removing all her development, and she's just a theif again with nothing different. Ask Selina Kyle she did some bad things, but in her mind it's for a greater good. Not going to argue the Felicia I'm likely the only person liking this evil Felicia Hardy.

otoh, she's already lost a lot of development from the reboot. This current direction is more of a regression. Also, wasn't the whole point of mob boss Selinz that she couldn't be morally ambiguous in that position. No matter how much she tried to delude herself?

I honestly don't think it would be that hard. She does bad things. She does good things. She brutally murders one guy for betraying her, then stops a villain trying to steal from a hospital. She takes a cut of profits from drug dealers, and donates most of it to rehab clinics. She doesn't try to stop criminals from being criminals, but she tries to limit how much they harm innocent people.

We already have an example of how she can do it: She waged brutal war against the Goblin gang, then arranged for the kidnapped children to be taken care of. It's just showing more of that.

It's better than how Slott wrote her I guess. Not how id have preferred it but better.

Murder is a bit much but yeah that works imo. So why does Gwen cover with Punisher look like the Attack on Titan image lol

Al Capone provided soup lines for the poor, so an ambiguous mob boss is not unrealistic.

That's something that tends to get forgotten: People are not one thing. It's possible to be a vicious criminal, and also be a pillar of your community. To lie, cheat, steal and assault, and then turn around and make things better for another group of people. It happens all the time in the real world.

And who's fault is that? The whole 'poor man's Tony Stark' thing is a new development for Parker that I don't think most people are a fan of in the grand scheme of things.
