This isn't exactly unprecedented in the Star Wars universe. Remember when Yoda refused to train people because they were too old and he was worried that they wouldn't be able to resist the dark side? Or when he told Luke to let his friends die so he could finish his training? Yeah, those were the light side options.
Which isn't to say that there aren't some really dumb DS/LS choices, but it's definitely not supposed to be as simple as light good, dark bad (though it often plays out that way). The most obvious examples are the choices involving jedi and relationships — jedi aren't supposed to form attachments, so anything involving romance will generally net you dark side points, but no one would argue that love is evilbadwrong.
The only character I have that's pure light side is my Consular, and that's only because that's the Consular's schtick. Even my Knight takes the dark side option sometimes, whether from simple pragmatism or just because he doesn't think the the option is wrong, even if it's dark side. The only one I expect to be pure dark side is my Warrior (who I haven't played yet) for similar reasons.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I am so sick of people claiming that it's wrong to give the Cathar lady the medical supplies on Ord Mantell instead of the soldiers.
The government on Ord Mantell is VERY screwed up. It's implied many times that they don't give a damn about the people. Thievery is pretty much the only way for them to get by. Furthermore, SHE HAD A SICK KID WITH HER. For those who don't know, I'm a cancer survivor. And I was 9 when I was diagnosed. So I know exactly where they're coming from.

What is this "signature" of which people speak? Not to mention the government on Ord Mantell was so corrupt that someone sold off the whole defense fleet and no one apparently noticed.
Weren't the soliers in immediate need of those supplies though? I recall giving the supplies to the Cathar lady on my smuggler and the soldier yelled at me because I condemned several soldiers to death.
Yeah, I don't think that situtation is totally black and white. Both groups need those supplies really bad.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."That is indeed the case. I talked to the guy when I had the supplies and he was practically on the verge of a breakdown because his buddies were dying and there was nothing anyone could do.
but HOW?And in that situation, I'd prioritize the soldiers, who are the only things standing between the civilians and certain death.
"The galaxy won't have to live under the threat of a tyrant!" a Republic character says as he fights alongside a group who are part of an Empire that specifically fought to bring the galaxy under the rule of a tyrant.
The Eternal Empire is a step worse than the Empire.
As a Republic personnel, though, I would be fully expecting the Imperials to backstab when all was said and done. Kind of in their code of conduct.
I'm sure the Alliance knows that.
Yeah, I would imagine the very last fight will go like this:
Alliance: Hooray, we beat the Eternal Empire!
Republic person: Imperial starships coming out of hyperspace!
Imperial person: Republic ships coming out of hyperspace!
-Begin Battle of Zakuul-
I wonder how a Light-Sided Imperial Agent who's flipped to Republic would react...
I played the first few chapters today. There's about as much content per chapter as the class story missions of any given planet, though the chapters don't take as long to play through because they don't make you walk from zone to zone to get to the next story bit. The early chapters were ridiculously easy to the point of being almost tedious — they're pretty clearly starting things off slow to let people who are starting the game with brand new 60s ease into the game mechanics. I was playing for most of the evening and finished chapter four (of nine total) and the various plot elements were beginning to take shape. A friend of mine says that by chapter six, shit's gotten real.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I'm actually kind of hoping you can turn Arcann to the light side. I'm figuring his attitude at present is simply crossing the Despair Event Horizon out of accidentally killing his brother and his father's "Well Done, Son" Guy attitude.
Well, I was right. 4.0 is the official shark-jumping moment.
They're not even bothering to make the game fully-voiced anymore. They've even got the gall to call it a return to "classic" KOTOR conversations as though it's some kind of deliberate stylistic choice when it's really lazy cost-cutting. Oh, and they sprung it on everyone on release day.
Completely embarrassing.

Times SWTOR has jumped the shark according to the internet: approximately 12 billion.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Considering the whole "EVERYTHING IS VOICED" thing was a major selling point for the game, going back on that is something to be worried about.
but HOW?
Especially since the news was buried in one paragraph and the bottom of a release day blog.
Oh, and for those who haven't seen it, the shift to your characters being suddenly silent is incredibly jarring and distracting.

Honestly, maybe if they had written off the whole "VOICE ALL THE DIALOGUE!!!" idea back in beta and put that huge-ass pile of VA money into the writing and, more importantly, the gameplay, they would've... *remembers which company he's talking about here* Uh, they would've lasted longer than a year before going "free" to play?
Of course, I'm just some hipster who thinks the whole "100% voiced dialogue" meme needs to be killed with fire, anyways
It wasn't the voice acting, it was EA demanding they launch the game in December instead of March as they had planned.
Wait, what stuff is unvoiced now?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
My agent once got lightside points for kidnapping an Imperial to hand over to the Ax-Crazy Darth Zhorrid, who made it clear that she intends to torture the poor man to death.
Yes, the (dark side) alternative is to kill him, but if he dies either way...
