Er, what? The series only has four three games.
More like six. RE 5, what's that?

^ I think he meant DMC.
#IceBearForPresidentWhy can't Wesker come back? What happened to Ada (I forgot)? Where'd Sherry Birkin go? Wasn't Degeneration set years after the these games, they still have zombies and mutants. Why wouldn't some other power-hungry psycho come along? He might not be as awesome as Wesker, but still. As far as I know, half the original cast are still out there doing who knows what.
Also. what's DMC? I'm lost on that one.

They're talking about Devil May Cry at the moment. Actually, with DMC, there's plenty to do. Specifically tying up the loose ends left at the end of DMC 2. Yeah, I know, Capcom wants to pretend that game never happened, but the least they could do is finish the series completely before restarting it.
That is an extremely off-topic subject, however, and I will leave it for future discussion in a DMC thread proper.
Resident Evil doesn't need a re-boot either. Just say that (clearly insane and rather stupid) Wesker from 5 was a clone (a failed clone) and that Wesker only let it loose so that he could gauge the effectiveness of that course of action without risking himself in the process.
Back to London, where, shortly after the events of Resident Evil: Degeneration (the cgi movie that followed Leon Kennedy) something happens. ZOMBIES! ZOMBIES EVERYWHERE! A modified version of the T and G virus were released into the air, infecting anyone not explicitly immune to the viruses. Initial survivability is higher since the airborne virus is slightly weaker than the transmitted version or something, I'm not paid to fill in the details. Anyway you play as Leon and ... someone else.

DMC=Devil May Cry
Also yes, there are still a few plot points that are left to be addressed (Degeneration takes place after 4 but before 5 by the way).
#IceBearForPresidentReboot for RE I meant
Well, they are making a new CGI movie that I think takes place in the game's timeline. Also there was another of the "Wesker children" that wasn't addressed, so there's a plot for the next game.

#IceBearForPresidentSo Leon and Chris are gonna meet? I think they might've met in the books, but that's not canon.
That'd be cool in a cutscene. Jill and Chris, back-to-back, blasting zombies. Everything looks lost until Leon comes in on a helicopter with an assault rifle and Claire drives through the zombified crowd on motorcycle.
Zombies are fun.

WESKER. IS. NOT. DEAD.
Seriously, there's no point arguing. I don't care what capcom say, he will return.
Also, bring back the G-virus. Its way worse than the T-virus.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...DC DOUGLAS WILL SEE TO IT!
Birkin was kinda the creepeist of the mutants...

Indeed. The thing about the G-virus is that the victims dont stop mutating, so it makes for lots of unique enemies. But its only ever beeen used for boss monsters. Massive wasted potential.
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...I thought DMC was being given the Prequel treatment, covering Dante's life as a teenager long before he actually started up Devil May Cry?
Anyways, that figure at the end of the trailer looked like Wesker more than than Chris, though it could be him. Either way, I'm stoked.
Nah, it's definitely not Wesker, I can't think of any reason Wesker would be out in that
That's exactly why the G mutants are only used as bosses, though it would be cool to see more of them.
#IceBearForPresidentThink about it: how awesome would it be to have a G-virus outbreak? You wouldnt need to have loads of zombies if every enemy was a G-mutant. It would make for a pants-shittingly terrifying game.
Okay, I now know what I want from RE 6: Leon as the protagonist, Ada as a second playable character, a return to the series survival horror roots, but with a refined interface and controls, a G-virus outbreak instead of just the T-virus or (spits) Las Plagas, and the same dark atmosphere that Code Veronica had. Wesker will be the Big Bad.
Somebody send this to Capcom, I've just created their next game. Go me.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...^But if they did G-Virus out break, then it would be mutant apocalypse instead of zombie apocalypse D=
I always figured a G-virus outbreak would look more like Dead Space than Resident Evil.
Eventually it probably would. But you could still have lesser enemies who are still in the early stages of mutation and look more human. I guess the T-virus could still be around to make zombies and such as well.
Wasnt there a game where the T and G viruses were combined or something?
Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...There's something about the TG virus in one of the light-gun spinoffs. I don't know if those are canon though.
You know, if i made a Resident Evil game it would be a Rule of Fun non-canon Gaiden Game where ALL the playable characters band together to fight an army composed of ALL the monsters that have ever appeared in the series Left 4 Dead style complete with a level-and-perk setup with each character having unique advantages. Sorta like Mercenaries mode brought Up To Eleven.
As for monsters... I want to see the return of the Regenerators. Exactly What It Says on the Tin and scary as hell.
edited 29th Jan '11 6:58:50 AM by ShirowShirow
Fuck the Regenerators, bring the Iron Maidens back! They were scarier, harder to kill, and had an awesome name!
Here's a possible idea, going off that "G Virus outbreak" though: dynamically evolving "zombie" hordes. So, as you fight and kill zombies and mutants, they change, in ways partially random and partially based on what you are doing. Give them a monstrous genome of sorts, with different trait mixes that can come out.
Early on, the results are mostly random, though you'd get things like partially killed zombies might adapt a new trait mid fight occasionally. Later on, however, some force starts intelligently influencing the horde, preemptively adapting the zombies based on your prior behaviors. Go around shotgunning everybody? Now most of the zombies have tougher carapaces from the getgo. Run away from them, either to kite or to flee? Faster and more agile mutants appear, or ones smart enough to make ranged attacks. Sneak around a lot, avoiding notice? Super perceptive zombies start showing up, or self-cloning/splitting mutants that flood an area with weak enemies.
I'm not sure if this would actually work as a Resident Evil game, but it might be fun regardless.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comI'm not sure an outbreak of G is would feel "Resident Evil classic". If anything, having to fight a cities worth of William Birkin knockoffs would make the series even more action oriented rather than focusing on the horror aspects.
And yes, the TG virus was in Resident Evil Dead Aim. The less said about that game the better.

What other games got rebooted???
