Yes, and it's live for the next month.
Patch 1.07 update allows for a special demo of Episode Gladiolus. The actual episode isn't out yet.
The Ring of the Lucii now has Zanmoto level power.
It should. It's sorta the point of the damned thing.

What I'm gathering from that is an easy way to get that achievement without spending an hour fighting it.
So apparently beating Episode Gladio gets you a shirtless costume for him.
Also extended teaser for Episode Prompto

Last week Xbox Live ran a sale for the premium digital edition at 30% off, coupled with credit from answering polls last fall. So I jumped on it, warts and all. As soon as it finishes installing, I get to see what was added and subtracted.
Watched a playthrough of the added Chapter 13 content. It's... alright, I guess, like a lot of the game's weaknesses. Thankfully fixes the most glaring plotholes from that section, is integrated in a way that's convenient for players who already beat the game, and is a nice way to give people a taste of Gladio's gameplay, but a lot of it is stuff people already assumed beforehand and doesn't do much to actually flesh out Ravus or the Emperor of Niflheim. It's a start, but a lot more needs to be done to salvage those two characters, although it's possible this isn't the end of it.
The "alternative facts" and "fake news" jokes did make me chuckle though.
Hmm. Wellp, finished the game. I went into this completely cold, but I guess I understand why people are lukewarm about it now. Everything after the Summit just seems like it wasn't finished, huh? Shame, because there are some cool ideas in there. At least the open world's still pretty, and I can't completely hate a game that serves as an official tip of the hat to FF 6 in so many ways. I just wish they'd managed to actually complete some of those things they rushed out the door.
I'm not sure what to think about the political jokes. On one hand, they're amusing, but on the other hand, give it a decade or two and it'll go over people's heads. Although to be fair, I played FFX about twelve years after it came out and I still got the "macarena woods" joke, so...
I'm OK with them because even if they're a little topical they still make enough sense as literal statements without context. The Empire literally engages in that sort of false propaganda when they claim that Noctis and Luna were dead at the beginning.
Sounds about right. Lots of great ideas that make it one of the more inspired games to come out of the FF franchise in a long, long time even if it wasn't able to deliver on all of them. I guess I'd call it an unholy union of Swery and Yoko Taro-lite. And Noctis ended up being probably my favorite FF protagonist despite his lame design. Hopefully whatever content they add will be up to snuff for when the PC version comes out.
I'm hoping XVI fares better now that Squenix is no longer shackled by the XIII trilogy, XIV reboot, and this game's Development Hell.

Good point.
They still have to deal with the Kingdom Hearts III & VII Remake first.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."XVI is rumored to be headed by Hiroyuki Ito, which would be a good sign because he directed both IX and FFXII after Matsuno left (he also directed the Zodiac Age changes) along with parts of the FFXIV team.
The grounded Urban Fantasy setting was one of XV's big strengths so I really hope they stick with it instead of retreating back to tried-and-true medieval steampunk. Maybe more urban-focused, or they could try for a fullblown scifi hybrid that's more like the first Xenoblade than XIII Cocoon.
I'd like a setting like XII era Ivalice again. Something that is clearly high fantasy but not quite Medieval.
If they aren't gonna do Urban Fantasy I would like something closer to FFT except perhaps a bit more fantastical with different races and stuff.
If they do the open world again then they better fix it up, make it more interesting in general.
More interesting side-quests, humorous or interesting quest givers & overall adding more to see & do in the world.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."x4 I was so excited when I saw that the Imperial Capital was basically Vector. But I guess you all know know that turned out.
FFXV being the real world but just nudged a few inches to one side was one of the strongest aspects of it. Also I might be alone in this, bt I could drive around that open world for days, if there was just more of it.

Now that I think about it, have we ever had a robot or cyborg party member in a Final Fantasy? Aside from Barret, who's just wearing a prosthetic. Maybe in the spinoffs.
We had Construct 8 from Final Fantasy Tactics who was rad af but none that I can recall from the main games.

Do Vivi and Cait Sith count?
This song needs more love.Vivi for sure does. Forgot about that.
He's more of a sapient golem than anything. Evidently he eats and sleeps and is an organic creature in everyway but his lifespan, so I dunno.
Is it active right now?
