Rename or swap with redirect:: Wall Bang

The current title is basically a poor snowclone of Wall Banger. The more common term for this by far is Head Desk which should be the main title of the article.

Wall Bang found in: 90 articles, excluding discussions.

This title has brought 14 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09.

Didnt this get renamed sometime back to Wall Bang?

EDIT: nope it didn't... I know that Head Desk was at one time a redirect to Face Palm.

That's correct, but someone decided to YKTTW the alternate version. I picked it up for one of the works pages I curate.

The snowclone is pretty bad. Swapping with Head Desk might work better, but I don't care passionately enough about it to argue the point.

The Head Desk redirect indeed collected a large number of wicks on its own, that could be a reason for switching.

I'm not sure what constitutes a "poor" snowclone. I mean, "Wall Bang" is a self-evident title, whereas "Head Desk" brings to mind "put your head down on the desk and sob in despair." And I've personally seen the head-against-the-wall version more often than the head-against-the-desk version.

It's not a snowclone though, it's a pun, which are terrible in their own way.

Well, if we're going to clean up Wall Banger-spinoff tropes, might as well resolve both Wall Bang Her and Wall Bang, is all I'm saying. At least Wall Bang is differentialted by two letters...

Two letter difference isnt enough for a rename based on the convo I had with Vaporwear and Vaporware.

Well, this thing is, Wall Bang Her is at least a clever pun.

Vapor Wear could do with a better name, but I can't think of anything.

Okay, that one's horrible, since I see people mix up the spellings "Canon" and "Cannon" all the time.

The issue is less that it's a snowclone, which it's not since it's referring to the same thing, but that Head Desk is a more common referral to the same thing. Google shows ~800k results for "Headdesk" and ~140k for "wall bang" and I'm not going through to see how many of those are sexual references.

This is one where the wikiword really should be Headdesk. That's pretty much the only way I see it being used — as one run-on word.

I agree. Headdesk is the term I most associate with this no matter what your head is actually being banged against.

Bump - doesn't seem like there's a lot of discussion, but there seems to be a lot of support for this.

I think the reason that there isn't a lot of discussion is because it's people are all on the same page.

Actually, it's just missing a hyphen. Wall-Bang Her is grammatically correct.
