Okay so I just watched everything on rata's channel and after a long trip to retrieve my sides in the dimension where genexes are meta, I hesitate between legit trying to play genexes, or somehow managing to fit trishula into my Level 4 normal pendulum deck. Problem is that I can't make a level 9 with 3 monsters that are all level 4.
there wouldn't happen to have a gimmicky as fuck level 4 normal pendulum that just so happens to have level-reducing effect when used as a scale, is it ?
edit : or maybe I could use a scapegoat token in addition to the usual level 4 tuner, level 4 pendulum. That's Crazy Enough to Work if I've ever seen it.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."I've always liked Genex due to the monster designs. I wish it was a better archetype.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I just realized that if I accept to let go of beelze and stop trying to make this relic of a bygone age relevant, i can stop having to specifically run dark tuners and stop playing this constraint asshole that is witch of the black rose and instead run a normal tuner that can be searched by rescue rabbit and not take up my normal summon whenever I'm trying to make plays such as electrumite.
Welp, time to use the friendship has ended memes : now ANGEL TRUMPETEER is new best friend.
Now if only they'd dare make an normal, level 4 tuner pendulum so I can search it with magical abductor, it'd be perfect.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Genex is a decent Synchro engine.
Where there's life, there's hope. Not decent enough on my side of the game. Yang zings are a decent synchro engine if one is willing to stretch the definition of decent a bit. Not genex.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."So is there a practical reason for no monster, after all these years, having base stats higher than 5000? Or is it just tradition?
They could always make Don Thousand's small rod compensation cards boss monsters.

There's plenty of ways you can get there with card effects. Maybe it's just that it would be difficult to balance; you can't just throw a huge attack monster out there with no limitations but then the various card combos to boost something's attack might be preferable to using that card.
Okay so I've just finished reading the whole duel terminal/zefra storyline lore on the ygo wikia and oh god that's crazy. That lore. Dark souls ain't got shit on those guys.
Is there a place where I can easily find the lore of the true dracos and world chalice ? A quick google search didn't gave me any good results.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."No kidding. What I wouldn't give for an OVA Series for my favorite archetypes.
The Zefra arc/"Season 3" is so confusing, isn't it? By the end most characters are members of at least three archetypes simultaneously.
dzeef talks about Knightmares and why they're good Link Monsters despite having shitty arrows (if you're not using them for Extra Linking).
Unrelated tangent, but I wish the wiki had good image crops of more recent cards. As you guys can probably tell, I like to use YGO cards as forum avatars, but anything released past Tag Force 6 requires that I manually crop the pictures if I want to use them.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The Spanish language wiki uses image crops for the images instead of the full card, and there had been several folk on deviant art who recreates card art (I assume for simulators like YGO Pro)

The zefra arc didn't bothered me too much considering I played a lot of the involved archetypes so I was much more familiar with the involved cards than the ally of justice or gishki era. And it was really nice to see that WHAT THE FUCK JIAOTU IS ACTUALLY SHADOLL BIXI ?
The best thing that ever happened to yang zings is being corrupted by the shadolls. Waow. I love you guys but you suck SO MUCH.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Behold, the Thunder Dragon trio get a three-headed fusion. Seems kinda useless unless it's heralding a ton of Thunder Dragon support, though.
Quick effect destruction in the damage step? That might mean Thunder monsters will get their own Honest in the pack. It doesn't target, and it's also not once per turn, so this might be very annoying.

Ah, it only took them years to make this.
There was another fusion and both are designed to work with existent Thunder monsters, but the fact that this one can be used in the Damage Step suggests more are coming.
Good, because Thunder Dragon was one of my first favorite cards.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIs there any way to consistently Fusion Summon this thing with 3 Thunder Dragons in your GY? Assuming you can just discard a Thunder Dragon to "add" 0 more to your hand via Rules Lawyering (which I doubt).
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Lookie here, the rest of the Thunder Dragons.
The monsters. In a shocking twist, they all discard to do stuff, and do other things when banished (or leave the field). Well, except for Aeon, who's a bit more chaos-y.
Fusions and support. Looks like a fun archetype to play.
Well that answers my question.
This is weird and random and I like it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? There is a clear pattern with the post VRAINS packs here, and its dedicating one archtype to legacy support.
- The Core sets have Anime cards, a World Legacy Archetype, and a game original archtype that is either based off a single card or is legacy support for an existing series
- COTD: Twilightsworn (Based off the Lightsworn)
- CIBR: Metaphys (Retrains based off old boss cards. Though one could say they're the most recent series to become an archtype as memebrs existed before)
- EXFO: Mythical Beasts (Based off Mythical beast Cerberus)
- FLOD: Elementsabers (Designed around summoning the Elemental Lords)
- CYHO: The "End of the World" archtype. (Retrains of Demise and Ruin, as well as their associated ritual spell)
- SOFU: Thunder Dragons (Based off of Thunder Dragon and Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon)
- The Deck Build packs continue this trend, but with two Game original aechtypes and no anime stuff.
- SPWA: Secret Six Samurai (Based off the Six Samurai)
- DASA: Vampires
- Hidden Summoners (there is no TCG acronym yet) has Nephthys (Based on the Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys, who incidentally also had counterparts in the DARK monsters and the aforementioned Metaphys Archetype before)
While this trend did start mid Arc-V it was more focused on DM cards and also didn't expand to their version of the Deck Build packs (which were 2 anime archetypes and a Game original one)
I do really like the Thunder Dragons, but...
The last time Konami overkilled support for something I liked, we wound up with Atlanteans. I still like them too, but I don't want Konami getting out of hand.

The sad, REAL American dichotomy
"When this Monster is Normal Summoned, you can return one card to its owner's hand. During the End Phase, you can return this card to your hand."
