Yeah, was sorta using that as a guide, but it sorta proved too much. Watched all of the videos on Everyman HYBRID's Youtube, but not much beyond that. Started looking through CANYOUSEETHEWORDS, but there were so many entries and most of them were gibberish, so I gave up that. Also saw a Ustream recording, but they're just too long and don't add much. I like the setup of the series, its definitely different than the feeling of Isolation in MH, but I need to know whatever relevant information I need to see.
Anyways, was thinking of turning my underused Tumblr into a Slenderman thing, but I'd need an angle. Any tips, guidelines, or suggestions?
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. Most excellent.
I'd like to note that ever since I've begun watching the Slender Man Mythos, all the scroll over texts have been fucked up wit weird graphical artifacting, as well as IM convos and pop up boxes. And no, I'm not making this up.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. Was thinking, would reviewing some of the SM series, Marble Hornets to start off, on my blog be a good way of transitioning to doing SM stuff?... still need an angle though.
BTW, had a thought for the guy doing Slender reviews; was thinking that maybe reviews could go up that are... weird, at first. Like seem normal on the surface but make weird allusions to things (like getting things wrong that you'd have no idea are true). Could be a sort of a segue into making it a full on Slender thing.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Seems like a good idea,
and incorparte that.
As far as blogs go, you should check Seeking Truth out, and Dreamsin Darkness.
Di D is like the Slender Man mythos' version of Fight Club.
I really need to start looking for people to help me out with my "amateur attempt at an MTV-esque reality show segues into Slender Man story" idea...
What kind of help, friend? :D
My "projects" on hold till I can get a damn camera.... /:

Actors mostly. So unless you happen to live in Hampton Roads, I doubt there's much you could help with.
.....XD
I DO live in the Hampton Roads area.
In virginia, riiight?
Portsmouth is where its AT.
I still have the problem of having an angle that'll work. I don't want to overplay my hand and try to be too creepy off the bat (In fact i'm wondering if I should encounter Slendy at all), and I don't have actors or anything like that,it'd be restricted to a single blog. Any thoughts on how to make it work?
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.@Scherzo: What about you try to document it's effect on your town?
(which what I was kinda going to do, but whatevs haha)

HOLY SHIT? Really? Because if you're not screwing with me then that is a HUGE goddamn coincidence.
XDXDXDXDXDXDXD
No, forreal no, I'm not.

Thank you for posting your address on the internet. It makes it that much easier for me to hunt you down and murder you.
I live in Norfolk, btw. Damn, that is weird.
Sorry, i'm just a little too trusting.
Also confident in my skills in kicking-ass, haha.
What did you have in my mind?
Well, my idea is to start the series off as basically a bunch of teenagers trying to do a "reality" show, kind of like the ones that plague MTV these days (like Jersey Shore). And it's mostly just stupidity up until the very end of the first episode, where viewers who are paying attention will catch a glimpse of Slendy in the window. From there it's a slow downward spiral. Slendy also opposes another force in this one, known only as "the Archangel", which acts through human agents (most notably a mysterious serial killer wearing a gas mask). Arc words: Embrace the Archangel.
Note that neither can really be considered "good", as they both use humans as weapons against the other. The Archangel is also incorporeal, and more of a force than an actual character.

Here was my idea for my series, just to let ya know, lol:
Two teenagers start doing videos, where they look into the history of Ptown and Virginia. But, children start getting killed off, so they decide to make an Investigation team with some other teens. They discover a monster, that isn't Slenderman, but a rival to said Slenderman. (Slendy = World, Thingy = Tidewater region) Slenderman would "take care" of the thing, but theres some sorta protective wall over the vincinity. The teens start trying to figure a way to kill the monster without letting the wall down.
At the end of the series/maybe first season, I was thinking of doing a possible Reveal that theres more than one Slendy; theres actually nine, each with a different style.
I was going to also incorporate elements from Va folklore, like Grace Sherwood.
Edit: heres the WIKI article on her; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Sherwood.
But I don't think I may be able to do it, since I have yet to get a camera....
I like your idea better though!!
What does the Archangel "look" like?
edited 6th Feb '11 3:31:42 PM by cutewithoutthe
The Archangel does not "look" like anything.
I also had an idea about a side vlog with one of the characters goofing off in his/her own youtube channel. It would have been mostly normal except for a few odd instances of foreshadowing (for example, one video would have the person filming walk past a guy who smiles and waves at the camera— a guy who looks suspiciously similar to one of the other character's long dead brother...)
Why thank you! After reading your post, I'm now tempted to incorporate some local legends into my own story.
Oh yeah, and the title of the blog would be "The 757".

How can I help?
Not sure. I only just started asking my friends if they wanted to act in it (by which I mean I made a post on Facebook. I'm gonna try to call a few people who might be interested tomorrow). I'll try to keep you posted.
AWESOMNESS!!
And if my series ever gets off the ground,...
crossover? haha?
Edit: Just saw your 757 edit, and...
"Im from the 757, bitch", MUST be in the series somewhere!! XD

That sounds really interesting.
Also, what sort of gas mask are you using?

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.@cutewithoutthe: Well then he problem is how do I get there (and I do know that reviewing Slender media is how I'll start) and how I portray it without being hokey or overdramatic. I do like your idea as well, but I don't want to steal your thunder.
Also, had a hilariously horrible crossover idea; Brief starts his own Slenderblog. Hilarity Ensues.
Also finally got through all the Everyman HYBRID material. You definitely cannot call it a Marble Hornets clone, the tone is completely different, like Scooby Doo meets The X Files. There's a feeling of comaraderie and group dynamics in EMH that, for the most part, is absent from MH. The acting is also surprisingly good; feels really natural. In MH, mainly because it mostly involves characters isolated and scared, there isn't a lot of opportunity to get a feel for the characters. I think that the creators of MH themselves admitted that was a sort of weakness of Season 1, and that they intend to have more character interactions in Season 2. But so far, I feel like you grow more attached to the EMH protagonists as people.
That being said, there is something to be said about MH's minimalism. Though Jay has a twitter and totheark has a Youtube page, they aren't required reading/viewing to enjoy Marble Hornets. Its very self contained. While EMH's setup lends itself well to its ARG and community participation aspect (which I wonder how they get fans to be in character on Ustreams and meetups), but it makes it a tangled web to unravel. Its not as compact as MH. While this doesn't make it better or worse, it definitely makes it different.

Are there any blogs that do that?
Also, Zudak: I come bearing tidings of great joy!
