The description seems to be describing how animation can be used to create things that couldn't possibly exist in reality, but most of the examples are just What Do You Mean, It Wasn't Made on Drugs? in animation. If it's just about the latter, that would just be a duplicate trope and we don't need it. If it's the former, the description and examples need fixed to reflect the difference between whatever we're defining this trope as and seeming like it was made on drugs.

That's exactly what it is, What Do You Mean, It Wasn't Made on Drugs? for cartoons. There were so many examples they split it off. That's how I remember it, anyway.

What Do You Mean, It Wasn't Made on Drugs? is about the incorrect audience suspicion that a creator used drugs. This is about an art style.

If most of the description is about things that couldn't possibly exist, rather than being a little crazy, it might be better to tweak the description. Also, one of those quotes needs to come down, there's a limit of two quotes per page.

I agree that the description needs to be tweaked to mention that it is a branching/subtrope of What Do You Mean, It Wasn't Made on Drugs?. And it should be mentioned on that page that derangedanimation is a branching/subtrope of What Do You Mean, It Wasn't Made on Drugs?.

hi, this troper hasn't interacted much, but, like many, has lost countless hours to the site...

so anyway, I just thought I'd say that I really like this trope article, and I know it isn't an argument, but I figured I'd just say. This trope article is providing me with lots of leads on shows and videos and things I want to watch.

thanks guys... great site. :)

@Eternal: If it's about an artstyle, it might be worth checking some of the examples. I saw "Aeon Flux actually makes more sense with the dialogue off." under Western Animation Series. All the others I quickly glimpsed at seem to fit the artsyle idea, though, so it's probably not too big of problem.
