I don't think it would be that hard to figure out if they see the fish dying in their presence. They learned how to conceal their presence for the puffer fish.

Yeah I guess it depends how sensitive the fish is though. Who knows though.

New chapter.

I was eating dinner while I read that, but I STILL got hungry. Darn it.

Now that I have read Hunter X Hunter in its entirety this series reminds me of it a lot more than it does One Piece. Especially in the narration style.

A typical eating chapter. Wonder who was watching them.

I am kind on the fence about fish, but damn that looked good.

Gourmet 156 Chefs Damn hard to find the chapter title this time.

Positive: nice to see some history for him and a better look into how cooks are treated in general. Also general plot development.

Negitive: new characters coming out of the woodwork with no real warning as a plot device to put him in the line of fire. Not impossible, but I would have prefered some forshadowing. A previous mention of a cooking school and friends from there would have been enough.

Overall: I like the plots this event is setting up, even if I don't like the event that much.

Do people not know that Komatsu hangs out with Toriko and can get pretty much any ingredient with him? Because his friend seems to not know that.

Why would the general populous know that? Cooks seem to be ranked/become known by their culinary accomplishments, not their contacts. Komatsu has not made any public accomplishments other than the Century Soup so, even though he is known to a number of the top names in the world, there is no reason he should be publicly known.

And, like I said, the friend has not been mentioned/contacted before now. No reason why he should know about their working relationship.

Komatsu does have a gay harem. I am waiting the next arc to add Coco to the mix. Although I would find it amusing if they get to him and he has a gorgeous female cook with him.

I agree with Belian on the foreshadowing thing. It may even be too late for the Anime to do that through Adaption Expansion. I am interested that the third friend wasn't shown. Interesting.....

I also didn't like that Ootake is already outed as a greedy douche who was once good. It seems kinda forced and hasty. Also, Tommyrod being alive and shown as an almost Adonis like figure is giving me so many contradicting thoughts.

The normal shonen plot in this situation would call for the third friend to be one of two things:

A) already captured and be the prisoner who has given up on escaping

B) (the more likely one) one of the evil cooking group. Probably part of the team sent to capture the top 100 cook.

(don't feel like looking up names right now)

He also could have given up on his dream, or alternatively be working for their jerkass being the real talent behind the dude.

Oh, Tommy surviving I knew. Him being re-introduced looking like THAT....I was not expecting.

Looks pretty similar to me.

I dunno, maybe it's the pose, or the fact that I wasn't used to him looking like that.

Still anticipating and dreading the next Tommyrod fight. Anticipating because he's an interesting fighter, dreading because he is and gives out High Octane Nightmare Fuel
