Actually those questions are legal, I've won a round or two myself by asking them. But it only works if the anime in question has a single OP/ED: two or more and you must name the song itself.

It's just whatever they want to impose for the round. There's no set standard for the variant rules. Then again, we just started doing it a few rounds ago.

The Variant Rules were only recently introduced several rounds ago ( I suspect Tomu got tired of my Google-fu shenanigans), and there're no hard and fast rules for what you can introduce. Just announce them at the start of the round and stay consistent.
