If I don't get a goomba who can tell about where I am, this game is Ruined Forever.
Easy street has no parking signs.Well, the important thing is that Mario is a Heroic Mime. While he certainly seems to have a personality of sorts, he has no dialog whatsoever. Thus, without partners following him around all the time we simply don't have characters in the story. Given how much the writing supported TTYD, I think that'd be a huge step backwards.
The RP Gs are weird like that. Mario speaks all the time in the platform games and party games, and Mario vs Donkey Kong Games...
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackUm, no he doesn't.
Why I am afraid of fences.I haven't played the Mario vs Donkey Kong games, but usually Mario doesn't speak much more than brief, simple sentences in the platformers. Could you really imagine his voice giving a Shut Up Hannibal speech or explaining exposition? It would just seem kinda goofy, even despite the fact that there's no voice acting.
Welcome to th:|In a word, yes. Okay, talks all the time is an exaggeration.
Super Mario 64. "Here We Go", "Thank you so much for playing my game."
New Super Mario Bros Wii is what I remember the most. He says "I'm number one", "We did it", "Get me outta here", yell at the air ship to stop. While in the vs games he yell at donkey Kong to get back here. He's not a chatter box, but he's far from the mime the RP Gs make him out to be.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackAnd of course, there's this:
And he spoke in some of the online commercials for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, as well.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Does it have to be a Goomba? Will a butterfly or something else do? :P
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaWait, so is this a port of Paper Mario from the Nintendo N64? Or a new one?
If it is a port, cool. Portable Paper Mario is always nice. If it's a new one, I hope we have a new cool female sidekick like Goombella and Lady Bow in this one, too. One of the exceptional things about Mario RP Gs, if that they give a chance for strong females for a change. Making the games a little better than just the ill message of a strong man who saves a Damsel in Distress. You get a little bit of female empowerment for a change.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]Please let Vivian have a part in the game
With the power of a dragon I can make up for my inability to spill. It's a new game.
Eh, aside from a cameo, I don't really see Vivian coming back.
I hope there are partners in the game. Super Paper Mario kind of felt lifeless with just the Pixls.

You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!If this is indeed an RPG with platformer elements rather than the other way around, I'm so getting it.
Thousand-Year Door is one of the best RPGs I've ever played.
Oh, good. That's preferable. Well, I sure hope for some awesome sidekicks. Especially female ones.

I'm definitely buying a 3DS anyway, because there's always games I like for all consoles. The big selling for me right now being Tales of the Abyss. But this is definitely adding to my interest.
Genkidama for Japan, even if you don't have money, you can help![1]New trailer.
NEW PARTNER SIGHTED! ... Wait, what the heck is that thing?
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more! That silver crown thing? ...I have no idea.
Welcome to th:|Also, Evil!Koopas look like regular Koopas this time.

That partner thing looks more like a Pixl than a proper partner, which sort of... worries me. The Pixls weren't bad, but they lacked personality. And they didn't have battle abilities, most of them. Partners are one of my favorite parts of Paper Mario fights, so I'll be sorely disappointed if they don't do more.
On the other hand, the increased emphasis on the "paper" theme is cute.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThat is some awesome music!
I am definitely getting this game.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Are stickies one time use? If so I can see it becoming a whole game of Too Awesometo Use
Given that you can buy stickers and find stickers, and the game giving you a sticker at random if you run out (or so it seems), I don't think it will become an entire game consisting of Too Awesome to Use. The rare stickers perhaps, but not the normal stickers.
More likely, you're going to want to think a bit about what stickers to use in which battle.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Man, the lack of proper partners in this game has me majorly bummed. Wasn't one of the major criticisms of Super Paper Mario that the Pixls were kind of... lacking in the personality department? I'm not sure why they decided to do more of that, considering how much ire it drew.
But on the flipside (as it were), I'm loving the implementation of the real-world items, and the Sombrero Guys. They're kind of awesome.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThe main criticism was that it was a platformer instead of an RPG. (and it's not even a good platformer either) Tippi, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi served as the speaking role for the partners. And Kersti is apparently serving as the partner dialogue in this game.
That video... man, that gameplay looks really repetitive. I might skip out on this.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!
I was really joking, but the game's I was referring too were Dragon Warrior and Ax Warrior.
