So, before Weyland-Yutani learns where Ripley is (that penal colony) and goes to get her?

Against all tyrants.graaah I hate that movie. Nevermind, at least its impact on the game should be minimal.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Yeah, Alien 3 is a piece of crap.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Everything after Aliens is, IMO. Alien^3 is at least reasonably watchable. Resurrection was just...urgh.
Against all tyrants.I like Alien 3. It's flawed, but I enjoyed how it was a criminal drama. In space. With an Alien. Something different.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchGratuitously killing off Hicks and Newt felt like too much of a slap in the face to me to enjoy it at all, completely dicking on the entire point of the previous film. Apart from that, the justification for another Alien rearing its head AND Ripley being impregnated felt weak and the movie's plot felt too much like the first film IN A PRISON!
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.I'm not gonna argue that the Executive Meddling fucked with something that could've been much better, but I enjoy it on its own merits. It's a fantastic character development film for Ripley, too.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchI think it's an ok film. Good in some parts, never great, bad in some others. I really didn't like how it all ended for Ripley, especially when Newt and Hicks died at the start, and the CGI for the Alien is godawful, but I can enjoy it.
Still, better than Resurrection.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. You know what would be nice? They find Hicks, revive him, he helps out, then gets mortally wounded, put back in stasis, and would also explain how a facehugger snuck on board.
Jonah FalconLooks like there's gonna be some intense hold-the-line sequences.
That was pretty damn funny in the beginning. Hoping for more moments like that.
Embedding magic.
I gotta say, I preferred the OOPMH of the combat in Alien Vs Predator. Getting hit by an Alien was a big deal, even once, because even if you managed to splatter it, you were going to take acid damage at that range. To compensate for the Aliens being powerful in close combat against you, having high health and having lots of acid splatter, Rebellion used stun mechanics and honestly didn't have us fight very many at once. I think that was a great approach.
As much as Rebellion's normal Aliens were better depictions to my mind than these, the Crusher and Queen are majestic, especially the Queen.
Swordsman Troper — Reclaiming The Blade — WatchI don't really like the addition of the Crusher. Can't help but feel that a Praetorian from the AvP games would have been a better fit.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Eh, just pretend that Crusher is Praetorian. The difference between two is negligible anyway: I thought that the big bad monster in that demo video WAS Praetorian until they began talking about new breed of Xenomorph.
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder. It's the big reinforced head. It looks...well, a bit silly.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. What I don't quite understand is the relationship between this game and Aliens Infestation - Gearbox monitored the DS one, and they both seem to use the same opening concept of Marines arriving to look at the aftermath of Aliens, so... are they supposed to be alternate takes on the same idea, or concurrently happening stories or what?
P.S. RE: Quality of movies. I kinda like all four, because they all have something going for them. Yes, even Alien3. Resurrection is only really enjoyable in the expanded version from the Quadrilogy (which Jeunet calls an "alternative" version, saying that the theatrical cut was "the director's version"), because it dumps the needless sappy-happy ending and ends in a more believable Sequel Hook.
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.I dunno, it lacks the atmosphere. The xenos are just crawling out of the fucking walls, they're not even trying to be subtle.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialArgh I hate that word. Why they didn't call it a tetralogy is beyond me.
The commentary did mention that it was fairly late in the game, I'd say roughly analogous to the Last Stand in the film as the Aliens begin to swarm into Operations.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Because it's a fun word to say? Or perhaps I am polluted by the fact that Russian uses quadrilogy over tetralogy all the time =)
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Sweet vindication, someone else agrees with me! The use of the word "quadrilogy" over "tetralogy" always struck me as a Viewers Are Morons marketing move.
This game looks so sick, I'm probably going to be way to scared to actually, y'know... play it.
Theatrical trailer is out:
Embedding magic would be welcome.
Still looking awesome.

The game takes place between the events of Aliens and Alien 3.
