This...this is just bizarre. Even by Saudi standards.

"Israeli officials told Ma'ariv they were "stunned" by the allegations and concerned that the bird could meet a horrible punishment in the notoriously severe Saudi justice system."

...

What is this I don't even

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.

Intelligence agencies have tried stranger things.

...but yeah, what the hell.

They must have finally "persuaded" the shark to rat him out.

India recently arrested a pigeon for spying for Pakistan.

The funniest part is that it was detained for having a GPS tag. Not a camera or something that could actually be used for spying purposes.

I'm sorry, but that is utterly batshit (maybe that should be "vultureshit") insane.

Wow. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry...

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.

The Israelis' concern for the vulture's welfare is touching.

Shark attacks and now vulture spying.

Israel's animal espionage program is stumbling hard.

Mark Von Lewis, your avatar is perfect for this discussion.

What would have been funnier? The Saudi 'intelligence' officials deciding to "feed the Zionist spies false intelligence" and screwing with the GPS locators. I can see a bunch of confused Israeli biologists asking "how the hell did these vultures end up in China?".

Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.

Apparently, the vulture was too loyal to his Jewish masters to be turned into a double agent.

I can't help but wonder if this story if some sort of propaganda people at the Western/Israeli side come up with in order to make sure that everyone thinks that Arabs are stupid and need to be educated/saved by the glorious west.

I mean, seriously, last time I checked SA wasn't the world's finest neighbourhood, but there is no way someone would make such an incredible accusation at this level.

Fear not, even if they were that stupid, I would not advocate saving them.

[up][up] Think of it this way: if you were asked to create a propaganda story to make Arabs look stupid, would you come up with arresting a vulture for spying? I know I wouldn't.

That would be exactly the kind of story I'd come up with. I mean, it paints the opposition as stupid, scared cavemen that don't even know the difference between a radio and a camera.

These people are insane. Why the hell are they still in a position of power, as opposed to a mental asylum?

Accidental mistakes are forgivable, intentional ones are not.
