If nothing else, it'd be nice to have an app to display YKTTW and You Know That Show entries. Perhaps with an option to shake for a random entry.
Actually, a "shake for a random Troper Tales page" app would be pretty cool, too.

The main problem with this would be that there's not an API (to my knowledge) that would allow just anyone to make such an app.

There is already a TV Tropes app, though it's mostly a "find the tropes when you aren't online" kind of thing, no bells or whistles.

The only useful thing an app could provide without downloading the whole TVT database to your mobile device is to reskin the site so it's easier to navigate. Seems like a lot of effort for little payoff.
