Regarding arte translations, IMO changing Cyandine Exceed to Sapphiring Squad was the best thing Graces's localization team did. Translation gets a 10/10 just for that.

And it's totally in character, too. Pascal is exactly the sort of person who'd give one of her artes a dumb pun for a name.

YEP.

Pascal's the best, that's why Sapphiring Squad is the best name

The Graces localization was pretty good and competent all around, really. Unlike Hearts and arguably Xilla 2.

Hearts' localization is just a mess. Okay so there's obvious fuckups ("Crazy Comet" to "Meteoric Rise" is just WHAT) and Jadeite was turned into some violent nutcase.

I will say I loved how goofy they kinda rendered Beryl though. I wanna hug her she's so cute.

Xillia 2 had a good translation to me (Apart from changing Jude's Savage Roar to "Recumbent Wolf" to match the JP name despite it being done by the same guy. Also absolute Domination having Gaius silently lower his fist just to look cool and going to the really old and stupid Eternia "FINAL JUSTICE" name for Cless' Dark Blade thus turning him into Captain America.)

And then we get one of Ludger's starting artes being called TIME DISINTEGRATION. Does he have Finality Deadend as a base arte too or something

[up]My issue with Xillia 2 was it wasn't consistent with Xillia for no apparent reason. Like come on, at least be consistent with the first game.

I have a few issues with X2 as well (Leia being nerfed, Ludger being made a Heroic Mime only for it to be largely pointless, some move names. SERIOUSLY TIME DISINTEGRATION)

Time Disintegration is too cool a name for a base arte, yes.

It sounds like it should be his mystic arte! I have no idea how they took a name that could have been "Tears in the Rain" for a Bladerunner reference...and got TIME DISINTEGRATION from it.

Also they changed "Light Spear" to "Tornado Drive" which, while accurate, is now inconsistent...and carried over to Zelos in Link. Yet there's another Zelos in Link who has Light Spear Cannon which is still called...Light Spear Cannon. DO YOU CONSISTENCY?

Consistency does not exist, apparently :/

Holy shit, the Ares Relm Litches as some cheep garbage. They'd be fine, if they didn't have an "I win" button in the form of their hit all Sleep attack, and being after to refresh it to stunlock your party to death.

@ asterism / Kombat: Heeey, I happen to like Cyandeen Exceed. Must be Pascal's Japanese voice. And I like Bloody Assault better than Ruby Inferno (come on, it's a punchy punch assault, not a flame ball!)

But yeah, I agree with Kombat on his other topic. *webshooters click* HOW DO I CONSISTENCY?

Ah, eh... Barbatos works like Jesse's Wobbufett, in the sense that he is a counter machine, at least in the original game. Since all those counters may be hard to code on newer games he was reduced to stupid brute level. Also, I heard here something about Hisui smacking Beryl? The guy reminds me too much of Kevin Levin to be healthy for me. And Leia was NERFED? Are we talking about the same Leia that got a crapton of new, elemental base artes and much better air game?

(Been busy playing Rayman Legends on my friend's system. It's great!)

I want to get back the Barbatos that countered everything you did, yeah, back when he was actually scary. Its hard to take him seriously now when he's just a slobbering hulk type with barely any more brain cells than a chia pet.

And yes, Jadeite fucking PUNCHES Beryl upside the head. Not just a Dope Slap he straight up punches her! It happens just after the group have left that room in that Lignatore prison section where they first see Kunzite and Beryl suggests just, well, running. And Jadeite PUNCHES her for it. What the fuck you greaser-looking prick. That's not cool at all.Rita hitting Karol isn't cool and neither is Jadeite punching Beryl, that shit is fucked up.

[up][up]Sure, you can't counter everything but there's a few you can program, like certain moves you know are particularly easy to combo and area of effect spells like Revitalize (in fact, specifically countering Revitalize was one of his original counters). I wish they'd put in the effort and actually do that.

I beat the Reapers on Ares no problem, but I do have an 80% sleep prevention guardian. I'm having a lot of trouble with the Cerberus unfortunately. I don't really have any tile boosting characters and the only friends I have with them are 2x at over 50% hp boosters and I find them way too risky to use.

I got past the Centaur guys in Ares fairly easily thanks to Leon but now Barbatos has roadblocked me.

I should probably go back to Xillia 2 NGP or even get around to doing Symphonia 2 with the Japanese voices on because Brain Beacock makes my ears weep for the safe reliable days of Sam Riegel and Rina Chan. Oh and japanese Richter is Dee Jay from Street Fighter. No really.

Also I think Velvet's MA is called Lethal Pain. So dark. Very tryhard. Darkness, imprisoning me. All that I see. Absolute horror.

Anyway, Hearts update! I basically got through Lignatore and am up to Prinseur. Ines and Beryl are amazing and the best news is Amber's starting to develop a personality. And I recruited Kunzite! Dunno why he got Repede as a cameo costume but at least Hearts' cameo set is leagues above the pile of rhino turd that was Zestiria's cameo set (when berseria's cameo set)

Also Jadeite loses his shit with Kunzite and punches the robot...and obviously hurtshis hand. Good I hope it broke every bone in your girl-beating hand you greasy haired prick

But anyway Chal's also in some deep shit but because he saw Shing and pals in Prinseur, well shit son if Chalcedony's going down, EVERYONE's fucking going down!

Also there was a bit where it slipped out to Kunzite that Shing apparently broke Amber's Spiria Core (well actually it was Amber and Lithia) and that pissed Kunzite off enough to break the first law so we fought him.

While he was still cosplaying Repede.

But the good news is Kunzite chilled out and now we have a second goal: Find Lithia's body.

Oh and the implication that Ines is a mum. Damn, no wonder.
