Soon the guy who made the Zestiria fix mod will work on Symphonia, I think.

He wrote that he can now freely access the data and will do a fix when he has the time.

Still waiting for model and or animation swaps so I alcan see Regal awkwardly floating and doing Mithos anims. Then I can YES IT BEGINS

I am expecting a Narikiri skin for EVERYONE. Maybe make the Coliseum trio playable... or Yuan, Botta, Seles or Mithos. But...

Just add a Free Run button. That's it, now the game is 9001x more awesome.

(Oh wait. Did you hear that? As if the Coliseum's difficulty level was destroyed in a cosmic-grade explosion, then was silenced?)

Also since everyone's been coming across the "dirty Sheena" bug on the Steam version I think I might start another new game just to do a dirty Sheena run where I keep her looking grubby for as long as I can.

Eleanor reminds me of Dotn W's Aqua (unless she turns out to not have blue hair).

Really digging the designs revealed thus far.

Really hoping Velvet doesn't turn out to be a fake out protag

Yeah. Call me paranoid but after Alisha and Milla, I'm eyeballing any of the guys announced after Velvet real closely.

Character lines and a blurb I noticed.

Eleanor: I don't want to turn my eyes away from reality. This is where the path I chose for myself has led, after all.

Rokurou: You get it, don'tcha? I may look rough, but I have a strong sense of duty.

Rokurou is voiced by Kishio Daisuke, who seems to have done mostly minor stuff and supporting roles before.

Eleanor is voiced by Koshimizu Ami and will thus be a strong contender for my favorite character. She's also voiced Holo of Spice And Wolf, Ryuuko from Kill La Kill, and Anemone from Eureka Seven, among others.

Edit: I forgot the blurb, which reads: The organization called Seiryou (Bureau of Order, perhaps?) is revealed! How will Velvet deal with them?! A huge organization and a powerful ally in Rokurou. How will her tale unfold...? Look forward to it!

Bureau of Order? Really hoping they don't port the NOL from Blazblue into my Tales series. Or maybe they're actually the good guys 100% for once. Or at least not the NOL.

I might get Berseria for how "Ow the Edge" Velvet is; its like Ragna had a daughter and transfered all of her luck to her.

I just hope the series doesn't stay this edgy. Zestiria was already more cynical than the games usually are, and while I don't have any problem with things being dark and serious (Abyss is my favorite, after all), I prefer the tone to be more on the hopeful side.

Zestiria was so awkward about its hope vs cynicism that it was just so horrid.

How dark has the series gotten before? I mean Xillia 2 had blood but otherwise it wasn't incredibly so.

Well Symphonia did have concentration camps but it's chibi graphics hid the messier aspects of this.

Rebirth is pretty grim.

Rebirth does look pretty grim yeah.

And Symphonia 2 Sons of Liberty had an evil demi-god posing as a kid he just killed. Somehow.

But has there been a REALLY relentlessly dark Tales game?

Nah, I wouldn't say so. Even stuff like Xillia 2 had the ability to offer levity to the players.

True. It did talk about the morality behind destroying other worlds to save your own but then we have Muzet's rather dumb ass character story and how she became a near one note flirt.

Not quite on a level of Ratatosk Buffallo Bill-ing in Aster's skin or Cless and pals practically dooming Derris Kharlan because Dhaos didn't stop to have a chat.

I'm pretty sure we don't have to worry about the story being super edgy. Velvet herself is pretty edgy-looking, yes, but hopefully Laphicet will serve as her Morality Pet and keep her from going too far off the edge.

And yeah, Zestiria, for all it had pretty good character writing, really needed to stick with a single thread and run with it. It's entirely possible to paint the world as big and complicated and between the boundaries of hope and cynicism while still giving your story overall a message of one or the other.

Does it help any that they gave Velvet the same level of boobs you'd see on a breasty side party member (i.e the one not normally important to the overall plot)

Yuri"Male Cleavage" Lowell
and
Luke "Ab-Window" Fon Fabre

were both rather solid MC's.
