Logically, a clone of Raven Beak would just be a tall Chozo, right? There's nothing too special about him genetically compared to other Chozo. I guess Metroids are more aggressive towards him than normal but that doesn't mean much.

I'd imagine a clone of Raven Beak would have his memories and personality to make him more of a threat.

They justified that for Ridley's species but it'd be a bit boring to say the Chozo have genetic memory as well.

Unless... maybe Ridley is just a bald mutant Chozo? :P

I was under the assumption we were talking about cloning that comes with the clones having the memory of their former selves?

Ridley isn't even confirmed as having genetic memory, it's quite possible that whatever process the Federation used also allowed the clone to retain his memories.

Or since there's no dialogue, it's entirely possible clone Ridley didn't have any memories.

Like, if you want to say people who get cloned have their old memories, you could easily explain it. Remember Adam? Got his brain uploaded to a database or something where they keep computer backups of important Federation people. So we know this technology exists. Might even be Chozo in origin, and if it is, then the pirates would almost definitely have access to it.

You don't pull a Subspace Emmisary on Samus if you don't remember how much you hate her.

He had something. That's for sure.

Well that's different, Adam had his mind copied into computer form, while cloning copies the body.

But I assume that cloning in the Metroid verse also copies their minds as well.

So either Ridley was in a Ghostfreak situation where cloning him basically means reviving him, or the clone had his memories.

It's entirely possible MB slipped him something to make him target Samus. Heck, everything he did, he could have done under her command.

Well MB is also a sorta clone of Mother Brain so that tracks.

Ridley might be Samus' arch-enemy, but Mother Brain is the brains behind the operation.

Alternatively, Ridley's clone was possessed by his dragon space ghost. Don't say it can't happen, he knows ghosts exist for a fact because they kicked his shit in in Prime.

Not even the only time you see ghosts in the franchise. Phantoon was apparently a member of the pirates, at least enough that he had to be killed before Samus could enter Tourian.

Let's not forget that Mother Brain, Ridley, and Kraid were all blown up by Samus in the first game, but they got better.

I genuinely do not believe Roidley had Genetic Memory, and feel like it's silly that people treat it as almost-canon when it's never even suggested in the game or any supplementary material to my knowledge.

I think he's just genetically predisposed toward being an asshole, and Samus coincidentally happened to be there.

Incidentally, we've seen Phantoon brought back for Other M, Kraid brought back for Dread, and Ridley brought back for HAHAHAHA FUCKING PICK ONE.

So the only Super Metroid Big Deal Pirate Guy still waiting for a return appearance is Draygon.

Guess Draygon didn't sign up for the Pirate healthcare plan.

For what it's worth, Draygon is a King Mook (queen?) for Evirs and those do return in Fusion.

I'll only accept a Draygon return if we can still electrocute it by using Samus as a human extension cord.

Draygon apparently makes a small cameo in Dread as some lifeform frozen in the Mawkin lab when it's deactivated.

I guess Raven Beak ran out of time to set up a boss fight rematch for Samus regarding Draygon.
