All right guys, time to put this thread back in shape. All I see are discussions about the zero suit and whatnot. We should discuss the things I like. Er... I mean, the important stuff.

Such as: Seeing as this is another remake... Do you think that they will add anything new? For example, imagine if Sakamoto adds yet another "Surprise Endgame" scenario, with you having to collaborate with the metroid hatchling to escape yet another dungeon, maybe using a mechanic that has been foreshadowed through the game.

Calling it now, the final boss will not be the Metroid Queen. It will be a chozo thing or mecha kraid.

I also want to see an Omega Metroid properly done, if only to justify it's huge bump as a final boss in fusion.

On the Metroid Prime 4 aspect... I think the main plot will deal with Sylux launching a full scale attack on the federation with the help of some cloned metroids. Maybe the pirates take advantage of that too. It ends with sylux defeated and the federation declaring the metroids as a High Security Risk... Leading into Metroid 2.

If Nintendo were REALLY smart, they'd also make references to the corrupt factions of the federation in both games, so that we can get excited for a possible sequel to fusion.

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.

AM2R added a bunch of bosses, it's possible Nintendo will do the same. I don't actually think there will be a big post-game section like they had in Zero Mission.

Kinda hard unless they work, like, an entire bit with the baby Metroid in there.

Mind, having a Metroid companion and designing puzzles around that has potential.

~.~ Please no.

You know what, I would totally be down for a game where Samus has the infant Metroid as a companion and can use it to solve puzzles and shit. But...not here. That'd have to be between Metroid II and Super. I am absolutely not comfortable with the idea of running around SR 388 drenched in the blood of the Metroid's entire family tree while it innocently helps Samus complete her mission of genocide against its people.

Honestly when you say using the baby for puzzle solving all I can think of is her holding it and threatening various people with it.

"Unlock the door or I put this on your head."

Super Metroid's big emotional moment is kind of fucked if you consider it through that lens.

It's smaller than the Morph Ball and it freely levitates. That's two different angles for puzzle design.

I mean.

Technically speaking Super Metroid doesn't establish. A timeframe. Between Metroid II and itself.

Like, if Other M threw in a whole retcon about the life and times of Samus and the Baby I would still have been mad, I think. But.

I feel like there is at least merit and potential in the idea. If it was written literally any other way.

Having an adventure with the metroid alongside you, so the player could build up a bond would be ideal.

Puzzles using the baby Metroid just makes me think of Samus jamming it into a keyhole until the door opens.

They could do something where the baby drains or charges up various electrical devices. Similar to what the Grapple Voltage did in Prime 3. Beyond that I'm not sure how it could be incorporated in a way that wouldn't seem silly.

You're using a baby animal/bioweapon to solve puzzles. I think seeming silly is okay.

Maybe you could hold onto it while it floated across some slightly long gaps.

Still inclined to say the baby's bond with Samus is pretty one-sided until the end of Super Metroid. So maybe focus on a sequence where the baby is trying to rescue/protect its 'mother'? As mentioned, the baby is roughly morph ball-sized.

Between this idea, AM 2 R's remote control robot sequence, and Zero Mission's Pirate Base, I'm being reminded of Oddworld. Could be doable.

If they did want to revisit Zero Mission's stealth mechanics, though, and if anyone was going to rescue Samus, they should reintroduce Gandrayda, seriously. I don't care if the timeline makes no sense.

To the one who said he or she was unnerved to use the metroid to help its kin:

It doesn't have to be like that. Maybe the pirates land in SR 388 after you kill the queen. You use the baby to escape through some catabombs and solve some puzzles. At the end, you fight ridley and leave him wounded, but not dead, which helps to bridge the gap to Super.

The metroid would still be helping the person who wiped out its kin, of course.

Its kinda a catch 22... You need the Metroids to keep the X in check, but the Metroid's can be used as bioweapons by the Space Pirates, and wiping the metroids out is the easier option then wiping out the pirates.

Its like choosing which devil would you prefer to eat you alive.

I would rather leave the metroids alive. They're way more manageable and less malign in nature than the X.

[up][up] Well, you can't win them all. Might as well eliminate the saving of the baby at the end then lol.

It's not between the Metroids and the X. It's actually sort of between the X and Space Pirates, put like [up][up]that.

I want an Open World Metroid game... like a isolated star system with like 5 planets to explore full of Chozo ruins, a Hunting mark to find 'since the Japanese are really sensitive to the concept of Bounty Hunting' Fellow hunters to interact with 'Samus codec calls XD'

Maybe more Shady Fed dealings....

Frankly something that brings back the Fusion suit... Cause I like the fusion suit

Not at that time but the Space Pirates would have eventually revealed they were back on Zebes and Samus would have been sent in to kill them again and it possibly would have ended badly.

So a Prime game where the baby Metroid is less "THE BABY!" and more a "Boy and his Blob" with laser cannons?

I like the idea of the baby Metroid having meaning to Samus. But in the way John Wick's dog has meaning to him, not in the weird way Other M did. You can care about something and be an badass Japan.

Personally, I would have enjoyed seeing more adventures of Samus and the Baby Metroid. While its Heroic Sacrifice in Super Metroid was quite iconic, I do feel it was a bit of waste that it didn't make out of Zebes alive with Samus. I feel like there was more potential with gameplay had it act as a companion. I always felt that Super Metroid did Torch the Franchise and Run with that ending. And then demands for a new Metroid game emerge.

Yeah, I can see the Baby Metroid acting like the Blob from A Boy And His Blob. Though I prefer 2D game style of gameplay since I never really had good experience playing Metroid Prime games.

Japan knows this, too. The problem is rather more specific, I think.
