I saw the film.

It was ok... It's pretty much a glorified heist film, and not much of a street race film.

Too much jitter cam, though.

I don't get why they keep making sequels to this awful series. It's the same thing every time.

According to Deadline, this is going to open $80 million. Why? We ignore good movies with original concepts like Rango but we go see Not Really A Racing Movie 5: Armored in Brazil?

I think I officially hate filmgoers.

[up][up] That's just the way things are. Rehashing of old ideas kills at the box office now.

[up] I've heard it's the best in the series and it sounds like a lot of people enjoyed it.

I've officially hated filmgoers since Scott Pilgrim bombed over Eat Pray Love and The Expendables. Though the latter film was a bit justified, I didn't expect anything beating 80's, 90's and Current Action Stars get Injected with Testosterone: The Movie.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

still haven't seen it yet, but from what I've heard it's somewhat of a disappointment, even from a person who understands what the F&F series is for. A disappointingly low number of car chases and races for a movie that really has nothing going for it other than car chases and races.

[up] [up] Scott Pilgrim was always destined to flop. Michael Cera is box office poison and the trailers made it look like The Spirit remade as a comedy.

It would have done better had Simon Pegg played Scott.

As I mentioned, they turned it into Armored but in Rio instead of Los Angeles.

Saw it a couple hours ago. Such a great movie. Nothing like Armored at all, don't know what you guys have been hearing but its dead wrong. An incredible thrill ride with a good story, excellent action, and sympathetic characters.

Did anyone else see how The Rock's character was constantly covered in sweat no matter what situation he was in?

I thought that was pretty funny.

Saw it, pretty damn good. I found it to be pretty brain-dead and chock-full of Narm and hammy acting, but damn was it entertaining. Stunts were well-done, and the car scenes were over-the-top and intense

I also noticed that The Rock was sweating for almost the entire duration of the of the film. I found that hilarious.

So do we have a trope for "Car Crashes that no one could reasonably expect to walk away from, but everyone comes out unscratched"?

A friend of mine dragged me to see it. I don't mind being asked to root for the Gentleman Thief once in a while, but I don't like being asked to root for the guys that are taking reckless endangerment of innocent bystanders and cops to a whole new level. As if we are expected to believe that only corrupt cops would be hurt in that final chase, that no cops (or crooks for that matter) would have been critically injured when the prisoner bus flipped, or that anyone on the sidewalks and shops of Rio managed to either dodge the giant safe or must have deserved their death, injury and personal property loss.
