@Pulse: It might depend if the Mook is playable(in the regular games, that is, ANY from the series) or not. Technically, although not in Smash so far, every Pokemon him/her/itself can practically be a mook, as can the trainers. Depends how you look at it. Regardless, if they're notable enough, or Sakurai clearly likes them enough, they can be playable. I'm not against them as long as a comprehensible moveset can be made.
Albeit, I'm not against any actual character.(when I say I prefer, it just means I like a different option) One exception is non-Nintendo appearing ones and ones who originated outside of games or not to introduce a game(I.E. R.O.B.)
R.O.B. is totally a video game character. He's even treated as such in the stupid little story blurbs in the manuals for both his games. He just happens to have been incorporated in a strange way, and, in Smash, he's basically an Original Generation Stand-In
. But yeah, I'll say that R.O.B. is also an exception and leave it there.
series are hard to draw the line with, since all the Mooks
are playable. "Notable Pokemon" seems the best place to draw the line, so yeah, Legendaries and really popular ones only.
