Okay. They're not debatable? Fine with me; gets this over faster. I don't think debating them would resolve anything anyway.

There was maintenance recently. Added nothing. There was a rumor that you could make 1v1 tourneys now, but I think that was false.

It doesn't take a year to make a single character. They work on more than one character at a time.

Ryu has likely been in the works since quite a while before the games were released. Mewtwo, Roy, and Lucas probably didn't quite take a year since they had a base to work with from Melee and Brawl, and Lucas is a semi-clone of Ness.

Yes, but that goes back to the root of this exchange with Sakurai claiming that they just started DLC development after October at the earliest.

In regards to Mewtwo, it's also been said that the Melee assets were too dated for them to reuse (didn't stop the recycled voice clips and all the scratchy quality that comes with, but w/e), so we're to assume that they built him up from scratch as soon as April when they were clearly also occupied with entirely different characters and near-monthly balance patches.

Anyone think it'd be cool if a future game reworked Sheik and Ganondorf a tad, using some of the moves they have in Hyrule Warriors?

YES.

I've been supportive of that idea for a while now, at least for appearances.

Well, Ganondorf, at least, depends on if we get him in another main-series game by then. 4 has the excuse of reusing TP Ganondorf because he hasn't been in a mainline game since. If he's still on vacation by the time Smash 5 rolls around I hope they draw some inspiration from his HW design. If not, he'll understandably use his latest main-series design.

As for Sheik, her reappearing seems very unlikely, so remodeling her appearance after HW and replacing her Light Arrow Final Smash with that harp would be nice. Perhaps change her jab or F-tilt to use kunai?

Ganondorf needs a total rework. I feel like Bowser is better suited for the "tank and power" role, Ganon boy over there needs to show off his magic abilities or maybe some swordsmanship, and balance himself over that.

Time until somebody comes in and talks about how he's more of a brawler and the Oo T promotional art...

What's kind of funny is that HW Ganondorf seems to take some inspration from Smash Ganondorf.

Ganondorf's 4-combo is just a Warlock Punch, except he's punching a big ball of dark magic to shatter it into a shotugn blast.

As for Sheik. I was thnking the harp could replace Bouncing Fish as Down B, and the customs would be different songs. Nocturne of Shadow would make a trap that'd damge anyone who steps on it, Serenade of Water would make a whirlpool move across the floor, and Prelude of Light would make a shockwave around Sheik.

Well his brute strength is definitely played up. Dude dual-wields two-handed swords.

Exemplafied by his 0-combo, where he can punch the ground hard enough to clear out a keep in one hit.

You know what's funny about all those jokes about Goku needing to be a playable character? Ryu's now in SSB and he's similar to Goku.

Ryu's just a clone of Mario. He's got his fireball, his spinning tornado hit thing, his rising uppercut... Even his Final Smash is just a big fireball stream, like Mario Finale.

@powerpuffbats: Funny thing is, one of Ryu's color schemes greatly resembles Goku.

Even though Goku's not in the game, Smash still ends up referencing him in a way via both Ryu being like him and Lucario being voiced by Sean Schemmel.

So I've dropped Lucas as a secondary which pretty much mean I don't have and never will have another secondary most likely.

Unless they randomly add a DLC character that catches your interest, Moon... then the whole cycle will repeat.

My two biggest mains are Ryu and Roy right now.

I'm thinking on re-doing my top 10 SSB 4 characters list because the four DLC characters made it outdated. And even the redo will be outdated when we get Smash Ballot characters.

Well good on Keiji Fujiwara for managing to sound very similar to Masachika Ichimura. I thought it was the same VA too until I heard Smash 4 Mewtwo's star ko scream. It sounded different from me to his Melee star ko which had a very distinct scream.

@Ryu's colors: While his one palette swap does look quite a bit like Goku, it's actually a reference to a character called Ryo Sakazaki, from a different fighting game.
