Funny thing is, Lucina makes unlocking Duck Hunt incredibly easy. Then again, so do a few other characters.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.The Ice Climbers aren't in Smash 4 because of technical limitations; apparently, controlling two characters was just too much for the 3DS.
They're probably too much for 8-player Smash as well, seeing what compromises the game has to make on some stages.
8 teams of ice-climbers on one match... That sounds crazy hectic
The compromises there are for user-end functionality, though, not because the Wii U couldn't handle it. Smash can get pretty hectic with four players- With eight, the stages need to be kept more static for the simply value of visibility.
I sure said that!so is that why the transitions in Lylat Cruise don't happen in 8-Player Smash?

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!It does happen...but it's still just empty space, it loops.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. That's kinda what I meant. It doesn't take you to, say, the Star Wolf dogfight or the Space Battle from Assault's opening, or Corneria, or the Asteroid Belt.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I really miss having Ice Climbers, Lucas, Snake, and Wolf.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! So, today in Smash, I learned a few more things.
- B-reversing! I did it a lot on accident playing with Pikachu today.
- Zelda-Dedede is a team combination that probably shouldn't have worked as well as it did.
- Ganondorf-Bowser is probably an even worse combination that shouldn't have worked as well as it did either.
- Zelda's up air actually beats out Pac-Man's fire hydrant if you can land it before it hits you. I actually didn't think you could beat Pac-Man's fire hydrant out of the air until that lucky hit.
I cling to all hopes of them being DLC characters.
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanThe Hydrant is never not vulnerable to damage, the only thing is finding out what characters have air attacks that are strong enough to intercept it.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.In regards DLC, I don't really know what to expect post-Mewtwo. I'd like to have at least the Brawl cuts back, but Snake has licensing issues and any Pokemon are probably right out considering how much space they already have on the roster (for the record, if a Pokemon is readded I'm hedging (heh) my bets on Ivysaur to round out the type trio).
Lucas has a chance, though not a great one considering he won't be getting a new addition to his series (unless that coy mention of Mother 3 at the E3 Direct last year amounts to anything, though I'm not crossing my fingers) ever. Wolf is the most likely veteran to return - we're getting a new Starfox game this year, so marketability is there. Ice Climbers won't come back, for reasons everyone else has already mentioned.
I also have a sneaking suspicion that 8-Player smash was added after they saw that the Wii U version wouldn't have to handle 16 A.I.s simultaneously thanks to the I Cs being cut.
In terms of DLC Newcomers? Anything's possible, though the most likely of those would be the Rhythm Heaven character that was cut during development. I'm kind of apathetic about newcomers, though, since all my thoughts about DLC seem to track back to the possibility of Lucas's return and apart from said Rhythm Heaven concept I have literally no idea who'd be chosen.
In short, characters I want via DLC:
- Lucas (#1 main in Brawl, inspired me to try a series I ended up hugely enjoying)
- Wolf (I understand your pain, Wolf Fans, though I'm rubbish at the spacies myself - I don't think anyone should go through the experience of losing their mains)
- Rhythm Heaven Character
- Ivysaur/Squirtle
- Sceptile? (A way to finish the Fire-Water-Grass trio going on in the roster, a bit too late to cash in on ORAS hype though)
- Toon Ganondorf/Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf/Any Ganondorf that isn't just a Captain Falcon clone, though I do hugely enjoy Ganon's current moveset - landing any hits make you feel like a god. Maybe he could have a Playing Tennis with the Boss move, too, since he's done it in pretty much any game he's fightable in. Make it work like Dedede's gordos, but after firing the move turns into a quick cape reflector.
- Inkling? I mean, a Splatoon demo's at APEX, so there's a precedent I guess.
- Please, if Dixie Kong turns up don't give her that dumb Hoo-Ha combo.
- Cranky Kong
...uh, I didn't mean to make such a huge wall of text. Oops.

How about a Pichu, but instead of being a Pikachu clone, it's based on the ukulele Pichu from the Pokemon ranger game? Styler disc showing up for smash attacks, stuff like that.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.About the ridiculous Mewtwo unlock method talked about earlier: I managed to get it after a ton of 81-player tournaments.
It's been 3000 years…That's what I was saying, Snake has licensing issues...that might even keep Brawl from becoming an eShop title.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I've heard that Greninja isn't doing so well at Apex. Oh man, if nobody can do well with him there I can't imagine his meta developing much due to people thinking he's not viable.
This is part of why I kinda dislike the obsession with tiers found in some corners of Smash's fanbase- It often turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy, with higher tiers getting more experimentation done and thus more techniques than lower tiers, who look worse and worse next to the higher tiers because so little has been found for them, and the cycle repeats.
... Not that tiers don't exist, mind. They absolutely do- No game is ever going to achieve perfectly balanced casts.
I sure said that! It's even more of a waste considering how balanced this Smash is. Every character can work, yet everyone gravitates to the top 5 just because statistically they're better and so the meta of the other characters don't develop as much as theirs and so they can't catch up.
Granted, I doubt the more dedicated fans of the characters are going to just stop using them, I certainly won't, but it's still kinda sad.
On the other hand, those who do end up using the lower-tier character to win tournaments end up being considered some of the best players. Look at Kuroda's Q.
Point taken.
Heh, maybe someday I could get there. Assuming I ever become able to attend events. So far I think there's only one pro Smasher using Greninja.
Lucas just won't work simply as a Ness costume, for they did have noticeable differences in Brawl. For instance, their up and down smashes are completely different. Ness and Lucas can be compared to Mario and Luigi and Fox and Falco in that regard.
Plus, PK Freeze is already a custom move for Ness. I'd imagine there would be a different set of alternate specials for Lucas that would allow PK Freeze to still be his default standard special.

Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy. On a related note, I like how the current Conquest has Dedede apparently abandon his own team for one that happened to have both Diddy and ZSS on it.
"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guy
Cruel Smash is a cruel joke. And Lucina needs projectiles.
I don't know how any of you can beat her challenge with just counters. I need edge-hogging, side throws and stupid luck that the Miis come one at a time just to get three knock-outs.
