I've noticed it, too. Yeah, I think they do appear less often, but it seems like when they do appear I have a much harder time chasing it down than in Brawl.

You know the 'KO your Rival 4 times in Cruel Smash' challenge?

Trying it with Jigglypuff, the lightest character and the one with a near-instant KO move.

Any advice?

You mean Rival Smash? Heaven forbid such a challenge like that would take place in Cruel Smash.

I'd say successfully landing Rest is still tricky because the Miis usually stay in the same vicinity yet are quite mobile. And because Jigglypuff is a Glass Cannon, you're more prone to being smacked around and taking a lot of damage. Personally, I'd rather kill two birds with one stone and just get 4 K Os in as Diddy Kong.

No, Cruel Smash, specifically on the 3DS. That many on anything else would be cake of a certain flavor.

That said:

Using Rest will just get you pulverized the very 3 seconds that you use it, and that's regardless of whether you even land it in the first place. Plus the multi-men no longer follow you off the platform, so overall I really can't recommend using Jigglypuff for it. Kirby, on the other hand...

Nice to see one of the "last-minute" additions were also due for a "last-minute" stage.

To be fair, it's not like Dr.Mario's stage needed to come with the character. It's not like we can't have stages without a playable character to represent it. Otherwise we wouldn't have stages like Pictochat, Living Room and Pilotwings.

At least Dr. Mario seems to have had more effort put into him than Lucina and Dark Pit. In addition to becoming slower than his overall-clad counterpart, he keeps his down air and uses the Dr. Tornado has his down special move.

Dr. Mario is a strange case of a Moveset Clone that falls right in between being an outright clone and a "Luigified" clone.

I wonder if Mewtwo will be the only DLC character or if they have others planned.

He would've had more effort put into him anyway because his moveset was already different...the only effort in adding him in Smash 4 was changing his Weight, Speed, the way his Side-B works, and the way his Up-B works.

Two of these changes...the former two...were suppose to be there to begin with, so all they did was correct something they couldn't do before.

His Dr. Tornado was changed to be more similiar to the old Mario Tornado though, like how it has slower mobility than Luigi Cyclone and it's rising power is somewhat independent of whether Dr. Mario is jumping, stationary in the air or on the ground, or falling. (Of course, since Mario doesn't have the Tornado as a special move anymore, it doesn't matter whether Dr. Mario's Dr. Tornado is similiar to old Mario Tornado either.) That said, Dr. Mario is still the clone out of the three that is very close to being a semi-clone of his own.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got one more DLC character just to make the roster an even rectangle.

I'm really expecting it. Both◊ rosters◊ could take it, though 3DS could even take 3.

Here's hoping Mewtwo's surgically implanted into the Pokemon section instead of just shoved at the end after Mii Fighter or even Random.

I agree. Being beyond Random doesn't suit someone like Mewtwo.

One minor gripe, but it bugs me that Lucina, Dr. Mario, and Dark Pit aren't grouped with their respective franchises on the roster.

Same, and that Yoshi's wedged inside the Mario section. They could have at least put it after Rosalina and Bowser Jr.

They are listed in order of introduction, while the 3 clones are grouped together.

Well the first 5 are anyway...

What moves counter all spammable moves? I'm curious to know how I can counter Link/Toon Link's spin attack when I'm in the air and someone decides to try to keep me off the stage using that damn attack....

I swear, it seems that my friends like to use nothing but B attacks. Yoshi's Egg Lay, Pikachu's Thunder, Kirby's Inhale and Stone, Ike's neutral-B, Falcon Punch, and Ganondorf's Warlock Punch have all been spammed by them and it's irritating that they don't use the regular/tilt/aerial/smash attacks.

I just prefer people to get actual skill when playing Smash Bros. Spamming and Camping (doing nothing but taunting) make the match unfun.

Well, until I got SSB 4 and actually got some practice in, I only ever used specials. Much more flashy.

Mega Man is a pretty good counter to spammers. Metal Blade can stave off most of the things you're having trouble with, Flame Sword beats Spin Attack, and Crash Bomb should take care of both Kirby attacks.

Thanks. Both Falcon Punch and Warlock Punch are easily countered by simply attacking, but Spin Attack and Stone are definitely the hardest.

I can't really get too mad at someone who, in a very casual environment, spams the Falcon Punch.

It's not the Falcon/Warlock Punch the pisses me off spam-wise as they're slow...it's when Spin Attack is used to stop recovering opponents, Inhale, Stone, Egg Lay, and Pikachu's Thunder that annoy me.

I'm so glad that Pit's side B was changed...I still find Pikachu's cry of "PIKA!" annoying.
