I really hope that spoiler isn't true
That sounds like a pretty stupid decision.
The ending's up on Youtube, and I scanned through it to be sure. He actually turns on Dana for apparently helping Heller at some point.
Wait, what? There's a mechanism to walk in Prototype?
I'm really hoping that it was all just some kind of Batman Gambit on Mercer's part to get Heller to kill him, or something. I saw the ending, and geez, I was rooting for Alex the whole time. I hope there's a second ending or a DLC ending, or even just DLC letting you play as Mercer. That would be great.
The only consolation is that the achievement is "Murder Your Maker?". It's possible there's something else, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Only been playing this for a couple of hours, but so far so good. One thing that's bugging me is that I'd got really used to the way Mercer runs and jumps around, but Heller doesn't seem to handle the same way, it just doesn't feel as effortless. I don't know yet if it's because they've changed the controls a little, or just because Heller isn't fully upgraded.

Sounds like writers were lazy
That or developers forgot that Mercer isn't necessarely evil even though thats kind of reason you want to play the game, the evil powers.

Well, having so many voices in his head can't be too good for his sanity. That coupled with the fact that he was already a sociopath makes his FaceāHeel Turn almost excusable.

He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes Alsospoilers please.
How's the game itself?
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? The game's fun. Gets way easier as you evolve, except near Alex.
Speaking of whom, What a shame. I can't believe I actually had to eat him. -_-
Doing a threequel would be haaaaard now. The whole time I was hoping that it was a fake Alex.
But maybe the game victory achievement name would back me up.
Now that I've evolved Heller's mobility a bit and got a better grip on the difference in control, I'm finding it more fun to run around. I don't know what was wrong with the old way though.
Hydras can still go fuck themselves.
Well, it doesn't suck, but the easiness of normal mode is unfortunate.
And worse, I should've known the EP thing would come back to bite me. >_> After finishing the story there's nothing that really kicks up your levels like those bonuses.
Hopefully though his evolutions would carry through to a New Game Plus? Though doing a story over again so soon kinda makes me sad when I know everyone who's gonna die.

It seems like I'm being disappointed by gaming stories all the time now. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to switch my brain off when I get the game.
If it were MY game, I (my character) would be a mobile government of law and cause havoc on Earth due to justifiable reasons, but not severely overpowered to the point that a flat-out series of gunshots won't put me down for good. I may not be able to disguise myself but I can sure use tentacles. Just mind the Adult-Only abilities, heh
What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...I got it, I'm enjoying it so far. The only thing that bothers me is how I've spent most of my time in disguise and doing stealthy stuff instead of causing mayhem. I'm sure that will change as I progress though.
Part of what makes both Prototype games good is not just feeling powerful, but also the feeling that you're always growing more powerful, so there's a bit of an RPG element there.

I saw it more along the lines of "how can I wreck peoples stuff in more and more violent ways" but your point still stands.
Wow, and I was actually excited for this game.
Oh well.
So should I buy it now, wait till it comes down in price or rent it?
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?I know what you mean. The last few missions I've done have been all about breaking stuff though Restarted one of the lairs about four times. Have to kill a pair of Juggernauts, and one of them has an EP bonus for eating it, but it kept dying before I could consume it. Also, I'd completely forgotten how to fight them from the first battle with one. It must have involved dodging, but that didn't seem to be working when there's two of them plus a lot of minor Infected. I ended up leaping around hurling gas canisters at them.

Wah, fighting Alex is harder the second time around.
Also, the Infected are weird. They only attack non-Infected, but they eat the bodies of both Infected and non. And I think Brawlers eat only live.
Hm. And after unlocking everything, there isn't much left to do except run around NYZ. And wait for Radnet challenges, but what real use are those after beating the game...
I know that completing all the Radnet challenges will net an Alex Mercer skin, but I'm hoping there's more to it; I'm hoping we get something else special for getting all the unlockables and challenges, like maybe some kind of secret ending.
There's the Radnet mutations too. Which are still useless after finishing the game, but...
I don't believe there'll be another ending. I don't think they got a plan for Heller now.
Beat normal mode with all the collectibles. Kind of underwhelming. Not many cool boss fights like the first one, save for the final battle and the fights against goliaths. I hope the DLC spices things up.
Skip right to Insane mode, I barely noticed anything different in Hard. ;p
The Mercer I choose to remember:
