How did Suika get out of the underground if it was sealed until SA?
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowEither by turning to mist or brute force.
That second one seems to work for everything in Gensokyo.
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments.Either waltzed out or mist form.
There may be a sort of cave entrance to the underground but Utsuho created a geyser which made a bigger, more direct entrance.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersManipulation of Density? Nothing is totally impermeable, and Suika can turn into mist.
I sure said that!Overwhelming majority says mist.
Okay, thats reasonable
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowI wonder if there isn't a bit of Fezzik in Yuugi's personality.
Fezzik: I just want you to feel you're doing well.
Because it wouldn't be an interesting fight if it was too one-sided (in either direction—she also doesn't want to go too easy on her opponent). So she estimates her opponent's strength, and tries to almost match it. Just almost. She'd still prefer to win, after all.
(Obviously, this only applies if she knows she's a lot stronger than whoever she's fighting. Otherwise, it's no holds barred.)
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...That's a nice contrast. Suika criticises people's flaws while Yuugi encourages their virtues.
Heart of StoneDon't let Suika anywhere near Parsee, then. She'd probably turn into some kinda Persona-style jealousy horror.
I sure said that!I never got the impression that Yuugi was the leader of the oni, mostly because I never got the impression the oni had a leader. Sure, due to their strength, the Four Devas hold a lot of influence over the other oni, but I think most of the time oni just do their own thing.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I didn't really bring it up much, but that's true even in my weird little 'verse. The oni Big Boss is respected, and is the go-to diplomat, but dosen't really hold sway over other oni outside of that. It's kinda like being royalty in Britain; everyone respects you, yet people can easily refuse or refute anything you tell them to do.
I sure said that!I don't know if there's an official leader of the oni, but they form strong bonds of friendship, they respect the strong and they probably have regular battles to assess their strength, so a certain hierarchy is going to emerge pretty naturally.
With, I assume, the Devas at or near the top. It's not a bad guess, they had to get their title from somewhere.
Heart of StoneI like to think that they started as a mountain climbing club. Just four friends that scheduled climbs, brought pic-a-nic baskets and plenty of booze. Climbed to the top, got roaringly drunk, started rough housing, and eventually staggered their way down.
And if you hold with Kasen being a deva, she's the one who found religion and suddenly became a real buzz-kill. "Drinking to excess is a vice, my sisters." "Mountain climbing? We could use that time to recite sutras and do good deeds!" "MY ARM IS MADE OF SMOKE! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

Forever liveblogging the Avengers'The sisterhood broke apart soon after that...the surface wasn't fun anymore, so we moved into the old Hell. I heard that Kasen became a hermit. Heh, figures. I lived with Suika for a while, but she grew to miss the grass and the breeze and moved back to the surface. I hear she's doing well for herself...living in Bhava-Agra, no less. I'd expect no less of her, of course. As for the fourth of us, I must confess I have absolutely no idea what happened to her...hahaha, I've talked to much about myself, haven't I? Let's have another drink.'

Heart of StoneHa, between the two of us we almost have a working write-up.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'd put a title on those if I were you two.
And you know you have some funny options.

Heart of StoneShould we move onto the next character?
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowI vote bucket loli so we don't have to jump back to her at a later point, if we are moving on.
I second the bucket.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Assuming it's time, yeah, let's talk about Kisume before we forget about her.
I sure said that!
Well, the oni are perfectly happy underground and were perfectly happy, sans Suika, back when the underground was closed off from the upper world. I don't think they would mind so much if it was resealed.
And technically the oni are failing hard at their contract by letting evil spirits escape the underground in the first place. If Kasen is an oni, she's just fulfilling the contract by seeking to stop the evil spirits from escaping.
