KOSMOS is a beast. Love the palette and might consider using her now because of it.

...Skull Heart! I wish for...

Samson: No, Filia! Don't! You asked me to...!

Filia: ...my memory to return!

Now, that's interesting...

I have a message from another time...

Huh. So when people were like "So if Cerebella had wished Vitale to love him she wouldn't have needed to kill Fortune?" they were deadly wrong tongue

Kinda interesting how most of choices are the skullheart analyzing their wish and stating why it makes them become skullgirl(or what kind of one they will become) with most of final game endings being the non skullgirl choice 'cept with skullheart adding that they will slowly be corrupted or something

...Okay. lol

" Skull Heart: ...Really? Do you know how long it took us to even get this far? Centuries of whisper campaigns and information control! I must say, I've been doing this for thousands of years, and you are the worst wisher I've seen yet."

Interesting to know that Skull Heart can't apparently do EVERY type of wish and that Peacock is the one lampshading how arbitrary rules are and yeah, that argument is funny

Peacock's Alt ending should of been canon, dammit.

This would make for interesting DLC, though, even if, from what I've read, most of the alternate endings are even bleaker than the in-game ones.

Personally, I am ambivalent about Brain Drain. Pleasantly surprised by the reveal, but if it turns like "I am really evil because my loved one died..." I will be pissed because this has been used to death already.

So what important lessons we learned today?

1) Skullheart is always a dick

2) Even if you are apparently pure hearted, you wish will still fail horribly

3) Peacock is only one who can beat the Skullheart in wishing contest

4) Skullheart has sass and needs better manager

5) Double's job is to prevent people with stupid wishes getting Skullheart

6) Brain Drain isn't actually emotionless

7) Samson apparently erased Filia's memories on her command

8) Skullheart is a dick

Cerebella's alt ending should have been what they went for. But I guess this is kinda neat?

[up]Instead of becoming a Skullgirl she gets a Skullboyfriend stalker.

Among the original eight endings hers was my favorite as it subverted to hell everything that we expected but it was still a believable end.

Now I apreciate her story even more. Love screwed up endings.

...

I really need to play Story Mode one of these days.

Some of the alt ends were pretty twisted, but I think I prefer the canon (as in what's in the final game) ones to the alts.

[up][up] I actually find it better than the "She's totally pure guize srsly take our word for it" that they went with.

[up]The sum of both these endings totally destroy the theory of purity=goodness. In one she is a murderer and in the other she doesn't become a Skullgirl but screws up everything.

I think this purity thing was only meant to troll us.

Or fuel the "Cerebella is Mike Z's waifu" hate. that said I don't really like her either

Having your waifu's circus troupe murdered by her brainwashed undead crush is a little odd.

You know, she still made the wish and didn't become the skullgirls.

She is truly the purest.

The other endings implied that she'll still become a Skullgirl in her alt scenario, it'll just be a slower process.

Even if she doesn't, Cerebella's ending still hints that she will no longer be the same person she was. If anything, she'll probably just go crazy/psycho/evil from how horribly things backfired on her in the end.

I imagine she's broken down in the ending illustration when Feng calls her name the second time.

I wonder if there's any concept art for these endings kicking around somewhere.

Quoting Persona from the Skullheart forums:

"A few of these actually had preliminary art! Filia's alternate ending was really really really cool looking and I wanted to use the art for one of our sticks but never got to.

The reason why we cut all of these is because we didn't have enough man power to program in the choice option into our very basic story mode, nor the time to finish implementing additional stories beyond what we already had. Before we had our post-IGG current story mode engine, just to time a cinematic I would have to go to a timeline, right click > add frames > 10 frames (because 10 additional frames was the hardcoded maximum limit), over and over and over and over again to time a sequence, because we didn't even have the tech to hold a piece of text until you pressed a button.

Can you imagine doing this? Some holds are 300 frames long! That means I had to right click and type in "10" into a text box then press enter 30 times to get a hold that lasts 5 seconds. Meanwhile, Parasoul's story had shots and lines of dialogue that were held for 1200 frames.

CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THIS SUFFERING

I DON'T THINK YOU DO

YOU CAN NEVER UNDERSTAND"

So what can we infer about wish rules the Skullheart has? It can't grant a wish that would result in no more potential future wishmakers?

Of course. It wouldn't grant a wish that's not conducive to its main interest: churning out Skullgirls.
