Trump Orders Pentagon to Consider Reducing U.S. Forces in South Korea
At this point, US forces are merely a tripwire; South Korea’s conventional military is superior to the North, so it’s not the number of US Troops that matters as much as the presence of them, partial withdrawal of Us forces doesn’t really change the strategic situation in Korea, and is a reasonable step towards deescelation if North Korea is prepared to reciprocate with their own concessions.

I didn't know North Korea was religious.
KJU changed North Korean time to align with the South.
Moon was told that he became disturbed lately when he saw the two clocks in the DMZ.
So that was actually the first time he bothered to visit his troops at the front?
Well given the circumstances of him ascending the presidency, he might not have had the opportunity before.
A JT editorial on what the upcoming summit in Korea means for Japanese national security.
Since the trilateral summit is coming up in Tokyo, the TMPD is taking charge of security including checkpoints to stop and inspect vehicles.
US, N.Korea to hold summit in Singapore on June 12
Trump made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday. He wrote that he and Kim "will both try to make it a very special moment for World Peace!"
Singapore is believed to have been picked for its diplomatic ties with both the US and North Korea. It is also directly accessible by Kim on his personal aircraft.
The top items on the agenda at the 2 countries' first-ever summit will be whether the leaders can pave the way for denuclearizing North Korea and creating a permanent peace framework that would replace the Korean War armistice.
Another focus is whether Trump will take up the issue of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korean agents decades ago.
Trump had revealed that he was weighing candidate sites for the summit, including Singapore and the truce village of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone between the 2 Koreas. An inter-Korean summit took place in Panmunjom last month.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited North Korea earlier this week and went back home with 3 American detainees released by Pyongyang.
This time they're probably trying to chip at the US/SK alliance. We'll see if the South tells the US to tone it down at some point.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleHot diggety, looks like the Nobel committee will have to sift through the nominees a little longer.
They would risk what's left of their reputation by giving it to Trump anyway, especially after what he pulled on Iran. The likely recipient would be the South Korean president, and possibly Kim (though they'd have to hold their noses).
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.I called it.

Weird that some news article are saying that North Korea is not canceling the talks, but are on indefinite hold...
Probably 3 years.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I mean, are any of us really surprised by this turn of events? Especially after Trump more or less pissed all over the Iran Deal?
Disgusted, but not surprisedNot really. Dear Leader is continuing a long tradition and Trump is an idiot.
Who watches the watchmen? On the plus side, someone's probably not gonna get his Nobel.
North Korea blame Bolton for it: https://twitter.com/JChengWSJ/status/996586112222052353
Yeah, I'm not buying it. They were never committed to this.
They should have sent a poet. They were certainly never committed to full denuclearization (giving up nuclear programs has generally ended badly), but normalizing relations was at least plausible, if the narrative of some IR experts of North Korea attempting to emulate China are correct.

An Indian official visited North Korea recenetly. To those unaware, both countries have diplomatic ties.
That sounds like something a person setting a trap would say! Though it also sounds like something a person not setting a trap would say.
