Needless to say, claims that Wikipedians have no sense of humour certainly have a hole shot through them by articles like these.

Clearly the shortest distance between Los Angeles and San Francisco is not to proceed to Uranus and back. Rather the shortest distance would be to proceed directly from Los Angeles and San Francisco.

^^ That's the cover on my book for lab error analysis.

Also, I'm trying to find the picture where someone tried to merge the Robert Kotick article with the one for Satan.

A separate case of equivocation is metaphor:

All jackasses have long ears.

Carl is a jackass.

Therefore, Carl has long ears.

Here the equivocation is the metaphorical use of "jackass" to imply a stupid or obnoxious person instead of a male donkey.

I recall this one being funnier in the past, but it still has a couple good lines now. "The many ribald versions of the limerick are the basis for its lasting popularity. Many variations on the theme are possible because of the ease of rhyming Nantucket with certain vulgar phrases." Really??

The funniest part is that the first example ISN'T obscene. It relies on a pefectly clean pun that takes a minute or so to figure out.

At first I didn't realize I needed all this stuff...

''He is a vegetarian, an anarchist, a practicing magician and occultist, and he worships a Roman snake-deity named Glycon.''

...you can almost hear a fuck yeah in there.

It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.
