You appreciated the last episodes?

You appreciated the last episodes? :OOOO

/me hugs AFGNCAAP immediately

Edit: Yeah, you might have a point about "needing" it. When I watched it, and shortly after I watched it, I was involved in a period during my college years of rather intense pressure combined with lacking a sense of direction in my studies. I think I empathized with Shinji based on how we were both being "forced to grow up", in a way.

I like the last episodes too. I don't know why everybody says they're a Mind Screw

*. It explains things very specifically! Straight-up, all the metaphors involved are explained and everything.

Yeah, NGE sparked my interest in philosophy, I'd probably still be a very Emo Teen without it. Not to mention I wouldn't be using this site.

I do wish I could read a psychologist's take on those last two episodes.

I am good at search somehow. This paper is by a law student, but he's Harvard-educated.

I haven't watched then entire series, only some or parts of some episodes and EoE, but upon watching the first third of episode 25, I could follow the dialog and understood everything that happened. You people promised me a Mind Screw! I though I would spend some time figuring out what happened, but no, just as easy to understand as Serial Experiments Lain.

*points at post before last*

Now Serial Experiments Lain confused me some, but mostly because I don't know much about that old Xanadu thing or anything. I figured out most of it, but the minor details still confuse me.

Also, I don't know why the director thought that it'd get different reactions on different sides of the Pacific. That assumption really bothers me.

If you want something a bit more confusing I'd recommend Dhalgren or VALIS (or really most things by PKD, though you seem like the type to have already read them). Dhalgren is Plot With Porn, though.

"Who killed Kaji"? tongue

I didn't really find Evangelion to be confusing or hard to understand either. Though I said, I haven't watched Eo E.

I like Rebuild though, because of the delicious animation and epic battles.

@Tze Tze: Working my way through Focaults Pendulm actually. It's Mind Screwy on account of me having absolutely no idea of whats going on, or whether anything actually is going on, or ever will go on. Masterfully written faux-anecdotes though.

I must admit I haven't yet read any Philip K. Dick. He isn't in my parents' shelves, and not available in the any of the local book stores. I did watch A Scanner Darkly which I've been told is a very faithful adaption, but no text-based PKD.

But we were discussing Rebuild Of Evangelion weren't we? Um, lemme' see... Uh, so apparently there's a new character who's apparently a balanced Asuka.

Huh. You said you were writing postcyberpunk, so I kind of assumed it somehow. Oh well.

And now I'm wondering why my one-room, crappy in-the-sticks local library had not one, but three PKD books.

A well-balanced Asuka? Is that really still Asuka? Being a psychobitch is a pretty core aspect of her personality.

From what I've heard, Mari is a Blood Knight. Unlike The Berserker Asuka, she doesn't do it to fill her confidence but purely for the lulz.

I don't know if this is accurate though.

I would hardly call a Blood Knight balanced. Geez, now I have to get my evafreak friend to lend me his copy of this, which I'm sure he has. Thanks a lot, people.

Smokie: To answer your question, I believe it was a random mook.

It would have been far more dramatic, according to Chekhov's Gun, if it were someone else.

Perhaps "well balanced when compared to Asuka" would be more correct. Enjoys combat a bit too much (or something) but without having a post-traumatic inferiority complex and bipolar depression tied into it. (Yet.)

The only reason the last two episodes screwed my mind a bit was that my subtitles were bad and occasionally made no grammatical sense when they should have. Otherwise, Mind Screw is a little off. It's the emotions that get screwed here.

Some writing.

I just noticed that the Evangelion manga is ending, so I decided to take a look, and I think I have to read it now.

Sadamoto's finally finishing it? I've read something like eight volumes. Not sure how many, it was before I started keeping records a year ago. Toji's dead and I think the Eva absorbing Shinji event has happened, but Evil Manga Kaworu hasn't shown up yet.

I reject the main series, End Of Eva and Rebuild and accept only this as canon.

I couldn't watch the third part because of some mysterious "copyright" thing.

Dig around the internet more. I'm sure it's been uploaded multiple times.

Also, fuck removing obviously parodical videos based on copyright claims.

(Anyone up for telling Warner Music Group to go fuck themselves, for taking down videos that use like a few seconds from their song?)
