Didn't they already make a Harriet The Spy movie with Rosie O'Donell?

Man, I remember Harriet The Spy. That book was the first time I ever heard the name Fabio.

I guess it is.

Children's book series. First one was written in the mid 1960s. Covers. The other wiki's page on it.

Michael Bay jokes are getting old. When he has done them himself, more than once, it is about time to find another director to mock.

... actually, the Michael Bay joke struck me as odd- wasn't that more of a faux-Quentin Tarnatino-blockbuster?

Michael Bay would have more dogs-going-at-it. (Yeah, I refuse to see Revenge Of The Fallen).

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.

This may be the first xkcd where I understand the subject as thoroughly as anyone can, but fail to see an actual joke. Except, of course, in the Alt Text.

Isn't the joke simply that it won't work because everybody does that?

Maybe the problem is that I understand the subject matter too well. I guess there's a certain ridiculousness these days to the idea that two people can take to the blogosphere and get one of them nominated for Ruler of the World as a result.

To be fair to Orson Scott Card, the book was written well before the current blogging craze. And Peter and Valentine were really, really smart — the only reason they weren't taken in Ender's place was their personalities.

Well, Valentine ended up writing for an actual dead-paper newspaper because she was recognized as a good writer, and they both used applied meme theory to make sure they gained influence.

Oh, <deity>! I just noticed the squirrel!

Yes, the squirrel made me chuckle. Or wince, considering Peter's childhood habits.

As I recall he first pinned their legs to the ground, skinned them alive, and then left them to rot in the sun. I don't think he actually he killed them.
